DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
I would like to connect up with anyone who has DILLONs in their data from these areas, so that we may make some connections. I'm currently stuck on who the parents of my ggfather were. My ggfather was Francis Dillon who died in a house fire on Sept. 18, 1910 in St. John's at the age of 43 years. It is said that he came from Mobile, but I have been unable to make the connection. I have alot of information on some of the descendents of Stephen DILLON and Mary Keenan m. 1825

Re: DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
Chris I tried to reply to your email address but it came back undeliverable so I hope you see this post. I don't know if there is a connection but my Dillon family is from Mobile. My grandfather was Gerald Lenord Dillon. My grandmother named a few siblings Vince, Bill, May & Mike. I don't know if there are more at this time. She said his fater was Mike and mother was Mary Francis Hayes. If there is a connection I love to hear from you.

Re: DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
Peggy, I don't know if I ever replyed to your post. I can't tell you anything on your Dillon. I haven't gotten that far back. Chris Shelly helped me out with some of my research because he his related to the other Dillons of the same area so in his search he came across my Dillon side. I wish I could help you. Donna

Re: DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
Hi Chris, saw your picts on Facebook Southside Site. Wondering if you have any info on my great grandmother, she was Mary Patrick Dillon Born 1867 not sure where, she married John R.Mullins in the United Church in St.John's in Dec 1890. Both of them where 23 yrs. old. My aunt said she heard her father was a boxer or fighter of some kind nicknamed Thumper Dillon. John Mullins was a mason and helped build the old NFLD Hotel and PWC School. Mary died about 1918 in St.John's and is buried at Mt. Carmel on the Boulevard. Do you have any one in your tree that would match this info? Thanks Debbie

Re: DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
Hi, This is Chris and we were in contact awhile back. I was wondering if you had found anything new on the DILLONs. I'm still researching my GGfather's famil (Francis Dillon that died in the fire). Who is this (as I don't remember)? You stated that we had exchanged information before. Thank you, Chris

Re: DILLON's from St. John's and Southern Shore
Hi Chris
Yes, we have exchanged information over the years. I live in Virginia. I'll be heading to NL in a few weeks to visit family. I'm hoping that I will find out some more information while I'm there. I came to a dead end on some of my search and life of course, so I've not done any research in a few years. My grandmother passed away at the ripe age of 97, about 5 years ago, so I no longer have her to ask questions. If there is anything I can help you with while I'm there please let me know
