I am looking for information on a fugitive slave who lived in Canada in the 1880s by the name of Henry Box Brown, or his son, named Edward Henry Brown. Box Brown was performing in Markdale, Ontario in 1882 and (possibly) in Brantford, Ontario in 1889 as a singer, mesmerist, and magician. He was a famous escaped slave who had successfully mailed himself (in 1849) in a large postal crate from Virginia to Philadelphia, and from slavery to freedom. Canadian Census data lists him living in Ontario in 1881, so I was just wondering if anyone out there has heard anything about his descent line or date of death (date of birth was sometime in 1815 or 1816). He also had a daughter named Annie and another daughter named Agnes Jane Floyd Brown.
