I am trying to find info on my family, I am interested in the Crann's from Trinity Bay Nfld area. My great grandparents were Ruben and Dora Crann. Ruben died in a drowning accident, and Dora remarried Thomas Cumby from Hopeall, any info on these people would be greatly appreciated, brothers, parents, etc, then I can try to match them on the 1921 Census.
I'm also researching Wells, Parsley and Sainsbury of St. John's, this is my husbands side of the family. My maiden name is Newhook. Yours truly, Bonita Wells

The Sainsbury family in St John's probably comes from Greenspond, BB and before that (1785) from Trinity. Other Sainsburys lived in Wesleyville. Their church records are in the CofE St Stephens Greenspond; others were prominent in the Salvation Army.

Anne Winsor (b. 1842 Swain's Island d. abt 1864) was Japeth Sainsbury's first wife. She would be my first cousin four times removed. I may have some info to help.

Maria Bishop Sainsbury was sister to my late husband's ggrandmother. They were the daughters of Edward and Fanny Anstey Wicks Bishop. Fanny was a young widow and mother of my ggrandfather, Samuel Wicks, when she married Edward. My maternal ggrandmother, Jane Winsor Carter, was the daughter of William Winsor and granddaughter of John Winsor from whom all the Winsors in that area have descended.
If you live in the Wesleyville area you can check this out in my book "Making Connections". There should be a copy in the Library there and Edward Sainsbury has a copy.
Happy hunting,
Emily

Hi there, my Great Grandfather is Thomas Cumby, father of Jacob Cumby, my Grandfather on my Mother's side. Jacob married Daphne Piercy, my Grandmother. Dora Crann was my Great Grandmother.
