Hi there,

I'm trying to find out more information about the COADY families of Torbay, specifically the descendants (and any ancestors of) William Cody (b.1785 Co.Wexford, Ireland, d: 05 Dec 1871 in Torbay, NL) who married Mary Quigley (b: 22 Jan 1814, m: 24 Oct 1832 in Torbay, NL, d: 23 May 1877).

Is anyone researching this couple? I'm also particularly interested in their son James Joseph Coady b: 31 Jul 1836 in St. John's, NL, sponsors John Quigley and Mary Roach (source: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-26179-26587-29...).

Thanks very much,

Hi there,

I'm not sure if there is any relation but my Grandmother was Anne Coady of Torbay Newfoundland b: Aug 24 1898 d:Dec 31, 1970, She had three brothers that I know of including Thomas (Tom), William (Willie), Ronald Coady and one sister Bridgitte Coady. I believe Tom was a Blacksmith and was a founder of the Coady Metal Works (see URL Link Below for history of Coady Metal Works). Ron, from what I recall, enlisted in the Armed Forces and was killed during World War II.

My Mother is Shirley Ann Healy (her father being Edward Healy) and she has two sisters Patricia Healy and Maureen Healy

If there is anything else you want to know, I can try and dig a little deeper into my Mother's family history.

My email is darpar@gmail.com

Regards,

Darryl
