I am researching the family of John Rossiter (1789 - 1873) of the Parish of St. James, Co. Wexford, Ireland and Mary Doyle of St. John's Newfoundland who were married on June 8, 1824 in the Catholic Cathedral in St. John's Newfoundland.

They had the following children all baptized at the Catholic Cathedral in St John's Newfoundland:

Dorothy, baptized October 3, 1824
Jane, baptized September 29, 1828
Anne (1830-1905), baptized April 19, 1830
William, baptized October 28, 1831
James (1833-1888) was baptized on June 12, 1833
John, baptized April 27, 1835
Catherine, baptized May 21, 1837
Thomas, baptized August 25, 1839
Thomas (1844-1895) was baptized February 6, 1844
Dorothy, baptized May 11, 1846

I am trying to find out more about this family and the parent of Mary Doyle the mother. A Michael Doyle was a sponsor of their son John in 1835 and so this may be a brother of Mary Doyle.

I have looked through the early records of the Cathedral and there are a number of potential Mary Doyles there. I found 4 Michael Doyles but there does not appear to be linked to Mary.

Thank you

Michael
