Hi,
I am looking for my husbands great grandfather. I know he had at least one son, Robert Murrin who came to the USA in 1902 thru Ellis Island and was joined shortly by his wife Johanna, daughter Minnie, son Frederick ( my father in law deceased). I know his fathers first name started with a W but that is all I know. In 1902 Robert was 24 years old when he can to the USA so his birthdate would be around 1878.
If anyone can help please email me. I am at a stand still.

Hi Paulette,

I was just playing around and entered my last name in the SEARCH; and so I came across your website.

In response, I'm 38 (originally from Long Island, NY) up until 2 years ago we moved to NH.

My grandparents (Irish, Scottish, German)

I don't know where to exactly pinpoint your inquiry, but email me if you have any questions.

Bye,

Patrick

Hi Paulette:

I believe I found the name of your husband's grandfather.
It most likely was either William Thomas Murrin or Thomas
William Murrin.

There was a Robert John Murrin born Feb. 13, 1879 in St. John's whose father most likey was either William Thomas or Thomas William Murrin.

There was also a Robert Mirrin listed in the 1910 Census , Newark,NJ), b. 1879, yr. of immigartion 1903, wife Josie, and children; Mary, b. 1899; Frederick, b. 1902; Gustave b. 1903; Florence b. 1907; and Elizabneth b. abt. July 1909.

Get back to me if you read this message as I am also doing Murrin research.

Surnames: MURRIN, MURRANT, MORAN, FITZGERALD, SHEA
Hello..I'm still searching!!...since posting my query I have a some possibly new info & I'm updating the details..here are the changes ...previous post stated my maternal GrGrandfather, Lawrence FITZGERALD had a sister who married a SHEA..this should be his Aunt Elizabeth (King) married a Joseph? SHEA from Pouch Cove area of Newfoundland....I did find a marriage record at the archives at The Rooms in St. John's and online that details a marriage that could be them - Location: Pouch Cove, Nfld; Date: 1903; Groom: LAWRENCE FITZGERALD > Age: 25; Birthplace: Small Point, Nfld; Bride: ANN MURRANT; > Age: 23; Birthplace: Pouch Cove; Witnesses: Joseph Shea and Catherine Murrant...however I'm still not sure if this is actually my GrGrandparents - the age given for the Groom is 25 but this would mean the Groom was born in 1878 but I know my GrGrandfather was born 1882 {I know there's always the possibility of typos &/or incorrect data} - 2) the family name of the Bride, Ann MURRANT this is the other different spelling {her name was spelled as MORAN on her daughter/my Grandmother's bapt. record 1904 and then spelled as MURRIN on her daughter/my Grandmother's marriage record in 1924}...I still haven't been able to make connections with my GrGrandparents FITZGERALD/MORAN/MURRANT/MURRIN family either in Newfoundland & Labrador or in Nova Scotia where my GrGrandparents lived during the early 1900's...any help would be welcomed, thank you! Regards, Nora :)

Hello,

My query is re: MURRIN, Ann(e)...this is the name listed as my GrGrandmother on the m. cert. for her daughter/my grandmother, Helen "Nellie" Fitzgerald m. 1924 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to my Grandfather, John Whelan of Colliers, NL.

From the info I've been able to obtain, my GrGrandparents - Ann(e) Murrin m. Lawrence Fitzgerald (he was b. abt. 1882 from Small Point/Kingston, Bay de Verde, Newfoundland). GrGrandfather Lawrence had a sister that married a "Shea" from Pouch Cove (or area) and this would be how my GrGrandparents met. Since my Grandmother was born in 1904, I'm thinking that their time of marriage would be abt 1900 - 1904.

I have no other info on my GrGrandmother, Anne(e) MURRIN - perhaps b. abt. 1880; m. abt. 1900 - 1904. Her daughter/my grandmother's m. cert. lists her place of birth as New Aberdeen, Nova Scotia; there's a son, Lawrence, b. 1907 listed on his m. cert. as St. John's, Newfoundland.

If any of my info is possibly familiar or if you could forward info to me, that would be great, I'm truly "stumped" with my GrGrandmother!!

Regards, :)
