Surnames: Philpitt, Philpott, Filpitt, Filpott, Conrad
Nicholas was born 1889 to James Philpitt and Mary (?), married 1905 to Ellen M. (Conrad) and settled in Lahave area NS. Was born in Newfoundland, however family name as spelled is not easily found in archives/census... We believe may have been south coast Newfoundland origin, possibly Philpot(t), Filpit(t), Filpot(t), etc. Any information on his parents/family would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re Nickolas Philpitt, he was bornto James & Mary philpott, in Jamestown/ Greenspond Newfoundland. Full name Nickolas Knee Philpott. He came to Nova scotia as a young boy with his mother, then name was changed to Philpitt. Also birth date on his headstone is incorrect, he was born on may 16th 1882 not 1889 as on headstone. I am trying to have this corrected.I have copie of his birth records. I am Nickolas,s Grand son Harry Philpitt.Nickolas had 4 sons, Russell died shortly after birth, Carroll & Stanley , one had no children & one had 2 daughters. William the oldest of his family is the only one to have sons. ALL persons in canada with the PHILPITT name ( except for the wives of the two brothers whom are still living & in their 80,s ) are from William. If I can help I would be pleased as tghev wrong info can make if difficult for others to carry out reshearch Thank You Harry Philpitt,Musquodoboit Hbr , Nova Scotia, Canada. ( 902-889-3110 )

Hey cousin Harry! You and I spoke about this not long after I put my question out there on this ancestry site. I guess family is always a good place to start your research! Seem to have come to a dead end on the Anderson side of things. Hope you are well these days! Steve (Anderson)
