Hi.I am a Strickland and my grandfather came from Channel. I am trying to gather info on all the Stickland and Strickland's in Newfoundland so that some day if anyone is looking for info I can help. I have been searching my family online and have been coming up with maybe 2% info. Thank god I come from a big family, I was able to get info from my great great grandfather. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in sharing their files so I cam put them with the data base I am building. I have only started working on it yesterday but maybe sometime down the line you may benefit from what I gather. Thank you Gwen Strickland

I am looking for parents of Harriet Strickland who married John Poole about 1848. She may have been the daughter of William & Fanny Strickland who was baptised at age 1 yr. by Rev. Wix in 1830. I would like to find a marriage record for Harriet and John Poole.

There was a Harriet Stickland born to William Stickland and Francais (Organ) Stickland, Anything else I can help you with let me know. Thanks,

That looks like the correct parents if their Harriett was born 1827/28. Do you know when or where Frances Organ and William Strickland were married? Where is Isle Aux Morts? Harriett Strickland is buried as Harriett Poole in Channel. Only one of her many children appear to be buried with her and John Poole (my great grandfather by his second wife). What I am really trying to discover is where and when this particular John Poole was born, his family says he was English from Poole and I have never found a birth for him in NFLD so it may be true but he must have married Harriett in NF about 1848 as their first child was born 1849. But again no marriage between them has been found. Is Clara or Israel a "Strickland or Organ name"? Beth
