Saw you post on Rootsweb about the Head and Brett families. I have both in my tree. I see that you noted a death date of Aug 10, 1937 for Thomas Head. I could not find his death. Can you tell me where you found it. His wife Phoebe Ann Jolliffe died April 1954 in Joe Batt's Arm. I have children for them John Henry 1890, Ambrose 1893 and William 1896. I also think they may have had a child James who was baptised May 1889. They were married Nov 1888. Hope to hear from you

Re: Moretons Harbour Osmonds
Hi, I am originally from Botwood, and my mother's sister Dora Osmond (nee Peyton) married Thomas William Osmond. If you go to the NFLD Twillingate and find census for Peter"s Arm you will find some names that may help you. Also if you ever run across info. for Adam Pollard and Jamimah ( My GGreatGrandparents) also James( born Dec.1886) and Fanny (Grandparents) it would sure help me. James had brothers Sthephen, Thomas, Pleaman, Alfred, Claude,Arthur (also my fathers name) and a sister Maude. Thanks Fred.

Re: Moretons Harbour Osmonds
Uriah Osmond was the father also of Rueben Osmond who was married to Harriet Russell from Moretons Harbour. Harriet's father was Andrews Russell and her mother Sylvia Wheeler Russell. Andrew was previously married to a Harriet? but I have been unable to find out her maiden name. Harriet Osmond was a sister of my Grandmother Dorcas Locke nee Russell. Uriah's father was Jonathan who I believe was married to a Susannah Jones. I believe Jonathan's father was a Joseph Osmond and his mother Patience Martin. Rueben and Harriet had a son Ernest Osmond born in Moretons Harbour. I am interested in finding info who Ernest married and what family he had if any. Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Moretons Harbour Osmonds
Ernest was near the same age or maybe younger than my father and they wrote and visited throughout childhood. My father was Oliver Henry Wagner, son of Sarah Osmond, daughter of Uriah Osmond. Sarah married Julius Wagner and lived in New York City in the USA. I was told that Ernest (Cousin Ernie) moved to New York at some point as well and lived in Nigara Falls area, but have not located him there.

Re: Moretons Harbour Osmonds
Thank you Deb for your response. I am puzzled though as I was led to believe that the Ernest Osmond (son of Rueben and Harriet Osmond) lived in Newfoundland all his life. I believe the Ernest in question was born approx. 1908. I don't believe that Rueben's mother was the Elizabeth Brett who was married to Uriah and I think this Elizabeth was the second wife of Uriah. My research leads me to believe that Uriah's father was indeed Jonathan Osmond but the Susannah Jones married to Jonathan at the time of his death was also Jonathan's second wife. I believe she was a Susannh Jones nee Ridout who was a widow when she married Johanthan. It is all so very confusing at times but any input is more than welcomed.
Thank you again,
Elizabeth

Re: Moretons Harbour Osmonds
Sorry Deb, that last message should have read "I believe that Elizabeth Brett WAS the Mother of Rueben", second wife of Uriah Osmond.
