Hi There,
I'm mainly researching my HEAD roots from Fogo Island. Who is/was your grandmother and her parents? I've got CULLS in my data base but no George. My gr gr grandfather, John HEAD married Jane WATKINS. I was not born in NF but my dad was born in Comfort Cove. He passed away in 1990 before I got interested in researching my roots. I was in NF for 2 months 2 years ago and my cousin and I did a lot of research. Have much info on my HEAD roots as well as the BRETT's. My aunt married a BRETT from JBA/Barr'd Island. Have lots of info and much info I can't match up yet...maybe someday. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Helen

hi deb
My great grandfather was Alfred Osmond. He was brother to your great grandfather Uraih. They were both the sons of Jonathan Osmond from Barr'd Island. Jonathan also had brothers Stephain, Joseph and William lning in Moreton's Harbour. I beleive this William is the father of Julia Osmond ( Locke ). The William from Harbour Grace belongs to another family. Uraih's wife was Elizabeth Brett.

Hi Rex,

Uriah was the son of Jonathan. But in Jonathan's will he identifies himself as being from Harbor Grace, living in Moretons Harbor.
At one time I explored the possibility of Jonathan being the father of Julia, but there was something that lead me away from that idea. I can't say what it was. I have alot of info on the Osmond's. Jonathan's brother William married Caroline Rideout. I don't know what William in Harbor Grace you are referring to.

I have an Elizabeth Brett born 1863 in Mortons Harbour to Charles Brett and Julia Taylor. Could this be the same Elizabeth Brett that was married to Uriah Osmond.

Elizabeth Brett, who married Uriah Osmond, was born in 1836. Her father was named Charles Brett, and her mother was Rosannah Randell. She also had a brother named Charles. I don't know the name of this Charles' wife, but he had a daughter named Alberta who married Mark Rideout.
