Surnames: Martin
Information about Isaac Martin, his son Gaspard, and Edouard Martin, all employees for the Hudson's Bay Company in Hamilton Inlet about 1836-1842, can be found at this adress:

None of today's MARTIN families in Labrador have any connection to Isaac, Edouard, or Gaspard Martin of the HBC in the 1840s.

In the book called "Dictionary of Newfoundland and Labrador Biography" there is one Martin mentioned from Labrador.
MARTIN,MARTIN (1890-1976) b Nain;Inuit elder;d Nain Sept.
Martin was for many years chief elder of the Inuit community at Nain and frequently served as a lay preacher for the Moravian congregation there. RHC

There are other Martin's listed in this book below is just a sample from each.If you would like the rest of what is written on either of the following just let me know.

MARTIN,JOHN WILLS (fl 1816-43).b Dorset,England;MHA Placentia and St. Mary's 1832-36.

I would be very interested in what you have on my family name Voisey. I can go back to 1805 William Voisey, Devon.
Most of my Voisey's were living in Wales. We did have two who moved to Canada, but they had no children.

No, I'm sorry. Victor Martin isn't in my data base. I don't know if you know or not but back then a lot of Martins was spelled Marten or Martyn. Try those if you haven't already.
