Hi, I am the Rosanne referenced in your post of 16 Oct.2011. I will try reaching you by email and would love any information you could provide about the family. My most recent research confirms my grandfather's death (Philip) as May 19, 1937.

Hi,

Brushette sounds familiar to me. I think my grandparents bought a house in Detroit, Mich from a family with that last name. I think they may have been related or friends with my grandparents, Thomas and Maria Rogers.

Have you ever heard of them?

Jean

Surnames: Moran/Murrin, Fitzgerald
Hello Angela..just going through some messages and following threads when I noticed yours mentioning "My mother (Alice Moran Dawe Martin). I've been researcing my family's ancestry/genealogy for a few years now. It is my GrGrandmother, Anne (Moran/Murrin) Fitzgerald that is my major roadblock.

I found her daughter/my Grandmother's baptism record which lists her mother's maiden name as "Moran" but then the marriage certificate for Grandmother lists her mother's maiden name as "Murrin", that's causing major problems as I've yet to find any info pertaining to just my GrGrandmother, Anne.

From a conversation I had with a cousin, he believes that my GrGrandparents somehow met through my GrGrandfather, Lawrence's sister, Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) marrying into a "Shea" family from Pouch Cove or area.

The details I do have are as follows:

GrGrandfather, Lawrence b. 1882 in Small Point, NL (Bay de Verde/Western Bay area)...married Anne (Moran/Murrin) ??????...their daughter/my Grandmother, Helen "Nellie" (Fitzgerald) b. 1904 in Cape Breton, NS married 1924 to my Grandfather, John Whelan (of Colliers, NL) in Cape Breton, NS....I do know that my Grandfather would leave NL to work in the mines at Cape Breton and I also believe that GrGrandfather, Lawrence worked at the mines.

Would you have, or possibly other family member, information that could help with finding my GrGrandmother, Anne (Moran/Murrin) Fitzgerald. Please reply even if you have no further info for me.

Just so you know, I'm constantly checking various sites for births/baptisms/marriages, etc...for Pouch Cove/St. John's & even Nova Scotia.

Regards, :)
