I would love to share any info I have. I have just corresponded with someone who knows something about the Gallops and Gaultons (Mary Gaulton married Emmanuel Gallop).

I am looking forward to possibly obtaining some docs or pics. I will let you know what I find out.

Meanwhile, do you have any documents or pictures, stories, web sites where you found info?

Yesterday, I found a John R. Gaulton on a NFGenWeb census. He is listed on:

NLGenWeb Directory Data
Burin Peninsula - McAlpine's 1904 Director of NF
Fortune

http://nl.canadagenweb.org/bpgrb_mc04_fortune.htm

If this web address doesn't work, just use the part up to .org and then search from there.

Jean

P.S. please reply on: jeangenealogyinfo@yahoo.com

I am trying to seperate my e-mail messages.

Theresa,

I am not sure if I have corresponded with you before? Who are you referring to in your message the Thornhills or the Gaultons or both.

I am looking for info on the Gaulton line: John Reuben Gaulton, Rhoda (Knott) Gaulton, Mary (Gallop) Gaulton and Mariah (Rogers) Gaulton.

Also, on the Gallop family: Emmanual Gallop in particular.

Are these people in your family line?

Jean

Theresa,

I saw your message about George Thornhill and you mentioned Thomas Gaulton and Sarah Jane Thornhill. Thomas and Sarah are my gggrandparents. Their son, John Reuben Gaulton b. 1876 is my greatgrandfather and his daughter Maria is my grandmother.

Are we talking about the same people?

If we are, I would love to hear from you.

I have info to share.

Jean

Hi,

I just saw your message, i don't know how I missed it. I did not know that Mary and Emmanuel had four daughters, I only knew about one.

I am the granddaughter of Maria Gaulton who married Thomas Rogers and they did move to Detroit.

Thomas and Maria Rogers had a son named Hubert but I do not know of a brother Hubert who married Nellie Rhymes? Very interesting.

I think I have been in contact with a relative of yours with the last name of Grand who lives in Michigan?

Thank you for answering my message.

I will email you later.

Jean

Hello Miranda23,

I will send you the info that I have. I don't know if you know this, but John Reuben Gaulton had a brother with a very similar name I will check my records I cannot remember it off the top of my head. John Reuben Gaulton remarried and moved to Hermitage where he is buried with his new wife. His brother and wife are also buried there. The Gaulton's originated from Brunette Island and John Reuben was born in Fortune, NFLD.

Are you related to Emmanual Gallop.I tried to return a message from his granddaughter last night, but I don't think the address was deliverable. I am going to try again. Please answer me on jeangenealogyinfo@yahoo.com

I have some pictures that I think are Gaultons but I am not positive. I have lots of pictures of Mary's sister Maria Gaulton and her family if you are interested. Please let me know.

I will work on this tomorrow.

Thanks for answering my message.

Jean

Marlene,

I tried to email you, did you get my message?

Do you have Skype, it would be fun to be able to talk.

Do you think Pearl would like to correspond with me?

Do you by any chance have any pictures? I don't have any of Emmanual, Mary, or their children.

Did you ever know or hear stories about John Reuben and Rhoda Gaulton?

Do you have any stories about my grandparents or pictures of them visiting?

It would be so cool be able to learn anything about them.

I have tons of info on the Rogers side of the family if you are interested.

I also have two pictures that might be Gaultons. The one picture has a young child in it with one adult woman and possibly by grandmother. I also have a tin type photo that has to be someone from Newfoundland or Nova Scotia.

Would you like to see these pictures?

Could you respond to me on my email: jeangenealogyinfo@yahoo.com

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Jean

Surnames: Gaulton
Rhoda Gaulton was my great grandmother - she passed away in the late 1980s. She was from Newfoundland and moved to Long Island NY (not sure the date) - Gaulton was her married name. She was married to Edward Gaulton and they had 1 child, my grandfather, Elmore.

Thank you for your reply.

There are 2 Rhoda Gaulton's. My greatgrandmother Rhoda Gaulton died in 1912 of TB in Canada. She was married to John Reuben Gaulton.

Out of curiosity, what was your great grandmother's maiden name?
