Hi George,
What information do you have on Joseph Smith (b.1837 Bay du Nord)? I have an ancestor born around the same time, so there may be a connection. Thanks -Devon

Barnes, Hyman
I have been browsing through the posts in search of any information on my Grandfather. His name was James Barnes and he lived in Hr. Mille for some time. He married a young girl (as I understand her name was Elizabeth Hyman) and took her to Femme where he lived and had a fishing factory in Anderson's Cove. This would be in the early 1900's. I would like to find more information on him and my Grandmother. Everything is very sketchy on the Census so it is difficult to find out anything. Date of Birth, Place of Birth, etc., etc., on both of them. I especially would like to find out as much as I can about my Grandmother's origins. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

None of these names are familiar to me. I don't think this was the same William James Barnes. But thank you for your efforts to try and help me.
