I have a little information ... though it may not prove helpful.
I have Anne Riggs and John Murphy married Nov 6, 1865 (from a Northern Bay Corpus Christi Rec). Children I have are
- Owen (b) March 9 1880, (bap) May 1 1880. The sponsers were Mary Pike and Michael Walsh, (found in Harbour Grace Roman Cath. Baps, under Trinity Bay heading.).
- Patrick (b) March 11 1872 (bap) Nov 8 1872, his sponsers are John Pike and Mary Lynch (found in Harbour Grace Roman Cath. Baps, under Trinity Bay heading.)
- Mary Joseph (bap) Nove 23 1868 sponsers were Thomas George and Mary McCarthy. Info may have been sent to me, as I have no source listing, and still searching for the records, when time allows.
Thomas Riggs and Honora Collins bap. Anne May 28, 1845 (found in Northern Bay Corpus Christi Records ... residence may have been Bay de Verde - a few BDV'ers went to Northern Bay for church things).
With that said, there is also a Anne Riggs marrying Thomas Fogarty around the same time as Anne and John Murphy, so I can not say with 100% verification that Anne, who married John Murphy is the Anne that Thomas and Honora were baptizing in 1845, as she may belong to one of the other Riggs marrying and baptizing at the time - such as Stephen Riggs and Bridget Howley.
Unfortunately there are not many records to help separate all the Riggs of this time frame to the parents and most researchers rely on connections with witnesses and naming patterns. So why did I attach Anne (married John Murphy) to Thomas and Honora?
McCarthy is found in two Riggs siblings marriages that are believed to be the probable siblings of Thomas (who married Honora), thus my attaching Anne to Thomas and Honora, as their daughter Mary Joseph has a McCarthy sponser.
Hope that helps, and I hope I didn't confuse you.
Happy Hunting.
