She sure is the same Mary Ann Dicks Reid born 10/3/1873 married Robert Forsey Hollet who died by drowning in 1924. They were married in 1898. I show 7 children - Lester, Morgan, Lottie (Charlotte), Robert, Sarah, Alec, and Roy. Morgan also drowned in 1924. That makes us close cousins. My grandmother was Mary Ann's sister Laura Eilene

Additional-- Your Jim Read who married Malinda Best was my gr-grandfather William Reid's brother so we go back quite aways, Eilene

the list of Reid I received fdid not include a Laura., as children of William Reid and Mary Francis. The reason I am wondering is I have several postcards to and from Capt. John Jarvis while he was at sea, most dated around 1910 . One of them is signed L.A. and not sure who that is yet, could be Laura.

my gggrannfather joseph reid drowned off mortier bay in 1859 his son richard was born after his father's death.my ggrandfather william was born in 1854 and married mary clinch circa 1877. in the 1871 census there were two william reid's and a richard fishing in burin. i am thinking that a relative of my gggrandfather joesph reid had taken these boys and raised them. my ggrandfather william settled in marystown while richard lived in pettite before moving to sidney. richard was the seventh son of a seventh son.they had a castle in scotland when joseph left for newfoundland. i am bretty sure we are related. i have hundred's of documented reid's from sidney to boston, california, ontario, etc. iam thinking that william reid born 1822 and joseph were brothers. help.

I am Richard's great grandson and the gggrandson of Joseph. I am trying to identify the 6 brothers of Richard, I have found 3 of them. Also looking for anything to help find Joseph in Scotland before he came to Newfoundland. Does anyone know where Joseph is buried? I have found a death record for the same day (6/20/1859) same name, but recorded in Scotland and the person identifying him was a son named Joseph. So any info on the family would be helpful
