I am interested in talking to anyone who has origins from the Lamaline area. Most of the families are inter-related.

I am currently researching my husband's Emberley family history. All of the information that I have comes from our Family Record Book started by my husband's Great Grandmother in 1895, but she entered information going back quite a bit further. She starts with Joseph Emberley who came from England in the latter part of the 18th century. Then his son John, born in Spoon Cove, Burin, Nfld. John's son George Henry Emberley, born 8/3/1836, his wife Mary Gaulton and their 8 children. If you have anything to share, I have some more details. Thanks, Arlene

Hi Roland, I have your Haskell family roots as follows:
Effie of Augustus of Ida of Henry Jr. of Henry Sr.
Henry Sr. was the first known Haskell of Lamaline. His origin is unkown although there have been Haskells in New England since the 1600s. Henry Jr. married Mary Ann Hillier, which makes you part of the Hillier family.
I am interested in your Pike roots since my great grandmother was Martha Pike of St. Lawrence and I have traced them back to England. I would like to know your father's first name and his parents to make the connection.

My great great grandfather Henry Dicks married Susanna Caines at Lamaline and had family there. Moved to Burgeo early 1800's. Don't know if Henry was born in Lamaline, could be there or England. Been at this a long time. The names you give are familiar to me, but not as regards Lamaline. Do you have anything on the Dicks', any inter-marriage, etc.?
