I got the info from your family from a family member, Alwyn Sansford, who had been in contact with someone in your family. If you are on facebook, I am in facebook if you would like to look me up. I have this tree public on ancestry.

Sorry it took me some time to come back to this thread. Wondering if the connection might be Michael Tracey being related to Bridget Tracey (one parent in each of those marriages) and/or Richard Philpott being related to Jane Philpott (never sure about the Philpot/Philpott spelling). Reason I am wondering is because Michael Tracey and Mary Ryan raise their grandchildren Ronald and Mary Catherine Keough (I believe they are the children of Patrick Keough and Mary Tracey - and Michael Tracey and Mary Ryan are her parents and she is the sister of your James Tracey). Now Patrick's parents are William Keough and Jame Philpott. So we now have Philpotts and Traceys possibly connected with a Keough thrown in. Would love to chat with you because I am sure these folks are somehow connected. Wondering where both James Tracey and James Philpott ended up (marriages, locations, children, etc.) when they came to the USA as my Keough left Newfoundland for the USA in 1916. Maybe we can check our information and figure this out.

But Adeline herself was a Chaulk, the daughter of William Chaulk and Elizabeth Ryan so that's why my grandfather was a Chaulk.
How are you related to Noah?
Ariana Elizabeth Gill Oakley was my ggg grandfathers (John T. Oakley) 1st cousin.
My great great grandmother was also Ariana Oakley of Greenspond ( 1827 - 1905 Gambo) and daughter to John T. Oakley. Ariana's (the cousin) father James Oakley was a Doctor/ Surgeon at Bonavista Trinity and at times the city of St. John's. James and Robert (gggg grandfather) had the same father (Richard Oakley) but different Mothers. Ariana E.G. Oakley married in 1850 to a Stephen Abbott at Bonavista but I don't know which Stephen Abbott. She was born in 1813 when James was almost 58 yrs. of age. Hoy! An only child Ariana married quite late (37 yrs. of age) and bore 2 children. I never found her first born Mary to have married but did find that her 2nd another Ariana married Thomas Gaylor Ford in 1888 at Bonavista. They also had 2 children as far as I know. Stephen Wm. Ford and Mary Ford. The Oakley line goes back to Wimbourne Minster in Dorset to @ 1655. In my collection I have the wills of Richard,Elizabeth,Ariana (1770 - 1816), John T. Jr, and James Oakley of Newfoundland.

Wondering if this family is Richard Philpot (1854-1931) and Bridget Tracey (1859-?) who had five children (John, Mary, Johanna, James and Bernard). The Michael Tracey (1872-?) and Mary Ryan (1874-?) family I have has six children (James, Anne, Mary, Margaret, Ann, and Andrew).

I did some research in Newfoundland because my Keoughs are from Plate Cove (East) and there are several connections - Traceys, Dooleys, Driscolls, etc. Let me know if any of the above seems possible connections and we could discuss further.

His father was Elias Carpenter and his mother was Fannie (Frances ?) Blundgen/Blunden ?, I believe. He had one sister that I know of named Sophie who married a Fitzgerald. Cecil moved to Nova Scotia where in 1924 he married my grand mother Frances Viola Bonang. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you.

ancestor
a

Not to sure who this Alfred is but ibelieve he is either a son or grandson of Richard Osmond who came from Crockers Cove and settled on Gooseberry Island in early 1800. Richard was son of Joseph Osmond who came from England and settled in Crockers Cove abt 1750. Another Osmond, David, settled there abt the same time. They are believed to be half-brothers
Richard had at least two brothers;Joseph Jr [my 3xgreatgrandfather] and William? or Benjamin ?
Richard went to Gooseberry Islands and is believed to be the
ancestor of the Greenspond osmonds and other Osmonds in Bonivista Bay.William and or Benjamin went to Fortune Bay and are the ancestors of the osmonds in that area.Joseph went to Moretons Hr and is the ancestor of some of the Osmonds found in Notre Dame Bay.The others are descendants of Davids son ,James who settled on Barr,d Island, Fogo. The Osmonds/Osbournes in White Bay are also descendants of James.
NOTE;David and Joseph were the earliest records of Osmonds in NF and[2]The Richard Osmond ,master of "The Betsy" was not the Richard who settled on Gooseberry Island He belonged to an earlier genaration, however i believe they were closely related

Rex Osmond
2043562669
rexosmond@gmail.com

Hi, I do not have much on this branch of the Chaulk family but I believe your Robert Chaulk was married to Elizabeth Strickland. I did not have his birth or christening record but his death record on Mar 4, 1915 had the following comment (died of Bronchitis at age 79 years) so my DOB for Robert was c.1836 (79 yrs before 1915).

I only have 4 children recorded for him
Henry (chr Sep 12, 1862)
Baby Chaulk (Mar 30, 1881 born & chr) died as an infant
George (bn May 17, 1882 - chr Dec 17, 1884)
Abel 1888 - 1965 (not sure about this one)

Sorry I don't have more information about your branch of this family. To the best of my knowledge the Chaulk family of Bonavista North came from Elliston (Bird Island Cove) Trinity Bay and I have a fair bit of information about them.

If I find anything else later I will post it here.
Best wishes.
Ed
Hardly enough information in this note to provide any help. You will need to provide at least some names and dates, at least enough to identify who your gg grandfather was. As you probably know there were often multiple people with the same first name in the same family so a first name with at least an approximate date of birth / death and maybe a sibling or two. Once identified someone might be able to help you in filling out the rest of the family.

I haven't done anything with this for a few years now. There is no more new info at archives. I did look at Greenspond records, not sure though if I saw a "Osbourne" or not. If you look at my original post you will see the info I have. I have since found out from a distant cousin that I never knew, but found as result of this search, that Tom Groves died after he had put that post online. He is descendant from Janet Osmond, Alfred's daughter. So I never did get to talk with him. I need to know Alfred's parents and Sarah Bishop's parents if you find out any info. Are you in a line of the Osmonds or Bishops?

I do not have any new information other than what has already been posted in this thread. Just a couple of suggestions. It is possible that Alfred was not his first name, for some reason he may have started using his second name. I have seen that happen.
I would also suggest that you look over the Greenspond records for an Alfred Osborne bn c. 1839 rather than an Osmond as it seems to me, if I recall correctly, from my old research in that area, a few were interchanged in the old St Stephen's records.
Interesting that one of the witnesses at Alfred and Sarah's wedding in Greenspond was David Smallwood (Joseph Smallwood's grandfather).
Good luck with your seaarch.
Ed

I will have to look through my research but the names sound familier. (You might know more them me though since you have been to the archives in St. John's. What information are you looking for?

I was just wondering about Richard Osmond because there are so many different stories. about who was related to who, where they came from, the Osmond brothers who were to have come from England. Very confussing??

dhippern@rogers.com

I have been to the archives in St. John's and recall seeing some of these names. I did find their marriage info online and at the archives. Must be someone out there who has info on Alfred or Sarah's parents or both, have posted, but no luck so far. Found all of their children's info at the archives, most were born in Lethbridge, Bonavista Bay.
