Hello again Dottie
I searched through my information that I obtained from the R.C.Corner Brook Box#2 Marriages page 182 at the St.John's Archives when I was back there in the summer of 2000 and I came across the following.Would he be any relation to the John and Mary Ann (McCarthy) that you mentioned in your message.
31st.Aug.1948
William Byrne--Corner Brook
son of John Byrne and Annie McCarthy
to Mollie Sparrow--Curling
daughter of John Sparrow and Jane Vardy
witness Gerry Sparrow
Dorothy Byrne
Leo J.Drake

Then there was the following written outside the box where the above information was written.
?? visitation
??
19 Sept.1948
??
??
I don't know what any of it meant but I copied it down anyway for future use.Maybe you can contact someone at the archives and they can check it out for you if these people are any relation to you.Take care and good luck with your research.

Hello Dorothy,
Do you know if your ggg-grandmother Johanna Fitzgerald had any brothers or sisters? My grandmother Catherine Fitzgerald was related to a Johanna Fitzgerald in Bonaavista. I dont know if there is any connection. I hope to find more information in my search for the Fitzgeralds.
God Bless
Margaret

Hello, I seen your message and I thought I would help a little. The John Byrne you spoke of was married to a Janet Park. The children's names you mention are correct except for the last one, was REGIS..my mother. I have hit a brick wall when trying to get further back than him, but I can tell you he was born in Spaniard's Bay, Nfld in 1897. If you have found any other information and would like to share, I would appriciate it. Thank you.

Hi Caryl
I'm very glad to hear from you.I'm been trying to find a member of John Byrne's family for a while now.I had the place of birth for John as Tilton because in the 1921 Census for Newfoundland it lists the place of birth as Tilton for John,Lawrence and William.I have information going back to your gggrandfather Jacobus Byrne.I would be more than willing to share information with you.Could you send me what information you have so far, I'll check it with what I have and I'll send you the information to fill in the blanks. I would especially like to have the information on John Byrne, his wife, children, siblings, spouses and any other tidbits that you might have on his family. You can contact me off the list at pmbyrne@shaw.ca so we can exchange information.
I'm also waiting for information from another person who said that he's been researching the same Byrne family and he's been doing it for 20 years so as soon as I get the information from him I will forward it to you as well.It will be great to finally be able to add more information on John Byrne.
John was the brother of Lawrence Byrne(my dad's father). Lawrence married Bridget Byrne(Byrne was also her maiden name).Bridget's parents were from Spaniards Bay but her grandfather was from Upper Island Cove,Nfld.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.Take care.

Thank you so very much...This helps a lot. No one had any information on my grandfather because he died when my grandmother was pregnant for my mom. The other child you spoke of is GERVASE. HE is my uncle. The link for the rest of the information is
http://www.gencircles.com/globaltree/gosearch?f=john&l=b...

Hopefully this will work...It is listed on GenCircles under Byrne. In the next couple of days I will take the time to type it all out for you in case that link doesn't work.

Thanks again...Hope to hear from you soon
