I have information on Kenneth Hunt born Wesleyville 1893, Private in Newfoundland Forestry Corps (Scotland) married Annie from Perth, Scotland in 1918. His parents were James Robert Hunt and Amy Jane Philpott. I am related to Annie (maiden name Hiddleston)

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
Is this the James Hunt who was the son of John Hunt and Jane Pickett born Aug 15, 1858 ?
I also show a marriage of James Hunt to Emma (Amy) Philpott at Wesleyville on Nov 25, 1891, this James later married Selina Way of Newtown.
Are these records all of the same James Hunt ? I would like to connect them up as I am related to the Selina Way I mentioned above.

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
Kenneth Hunt was born in Wesleyville and married Annie Hiddleston on 1/1/1918 in Perth Scotland he was age 24 and Annie age 22. Kenneth's father was James Robert Hunt (fisherman) and his mother was Amy Jane Philpott. I have found census info from 1935 - had 2 sons Perice & Edgar. Kenneth & Annie are buried in Wareham cemetery.

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
Ed, The James Robert Hunt who's 2nd wife was Selina Way is not the son of John and Jane Hunt. I have no idea who his parents were but I would guess they are Anthony and Mary Brown Hunt. Emma and Selina's James R. was born in 1859. Mary and Amelia's James R. was born in May of 1855. See census 1911 Sydney cove. Who was Selina's parents?

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
Hi Roderick Looks like Emma may have been James Hunt's second wife - note the marriage record refers to him as a widower but I have no info yet on the earlier marriage.
I am not sure who James Robert Hunt's parents are but I have his birth year as 1861 based only on the following marriage record Nov 25 1891 Wesleyville James HUNT 30 widower Fisherman Wesleyville Emma PHILPOT 24 S Goose Bay Married by:William Harris Witnesses: Noah Bishop & Louisa Bishop His next marriage was to Selina Way on May 26, 1910 at Newtown, the marriage was actually performed in the home of William James Way. Selina as I've been told was born a cripple, she was born on Sep 2, 1861 and baptized on the same day. She was the daughter of James Way and Fanny Bungay. What reference do you have re Emma also being referred to as Amy ?
Thanks Ed

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
I cannot find a first marriage in Greenspond for your James R. Hunt. Where did you find the birth for Selina Way? I didn't call her Emma. Sandra did. Emma and Amy are always the same person in many of the files as Mary can sometimes be Polly and Ann be Nancy.

Re: Hunt family - Wareham?
Hi Roderick The Baptism for Selina is in the Greenspond CofE records, at the time the family was living on Pinchard's Island. If you are searching on a transcribed database look for Selina Whey, she is there, I just had a quick look :-) Ed
