Re: 42nd highland regiment
Dear Marilyn; My gr. gr. grandparents lived at Scotch Lake which is now across the Nashwaak Dam. He was William Gray b. 1790 d. 1868. He was buried at Scotch Lake Cemetery. His son also named William is buried at Scotch Lake Cemetery. William Gray Sr. was married to Jane Beyer. They raised their children at Scotch Lake including my gr. grandmother, Lillie Gray Staples Evans. She was born April 15, 1838 at Scotch Lake and died on July 3, 1944 in Hyde Park, MA, USA at the age of 106. Do you have any information on William Gray and Jane Beyer and their ancestry and/or other family? My sister and I visited Scotch Lake in August 2000 and took photo's of the cemetery. We had no idea if the home they lived in is still standing. Thank you, Idamae Harman Rindge, NH
