ALEXANDER DIONNE (DEYONNE, DEYONE) b. Red Rapids, Victoria Co., NB 27APR1862 (APR1862, ca. 1856), d. Red Rapids, Victoria Co., NB 21JUL1914 age 58 years, m. Victoria Co., NB 31MAY1888 MARY JESSIE PIRIE (PERRIE, PERRY, GARIE) (b. Aberdeen, Scotland 24MAY1861 (MAY1861), d. Fort Fairfield, Aroostook Co., ME 7AUG1933), d/o William and Margaret (Scott) Pirie.
Alex and Jessie Dyone were in Perth Parish, Victoria Co., NB in 1901. In Gladwyn, Perth Parish, in 1911, ‘Deyone’ is transcribed as ‘Layone’ making them a bit difficult to find.
In Perth Parish, in 1891, Alex Dyone (28) was born in NB, but his parents were from Quebec. Jessie (29) was b. Scotland as were her parents. James N. (1) was their son. Next door was Abraham Dyone (ca. 1857), also b. NB, parents b. Quebec, whom I would think was Alex’s brother. Abraham Deyone (27MAY1857-21MAY1932) was the son of ‘Jeramiah’ Deyone and Lucy Roberts (?). Jeramiah Dyonne d. Red Rapids 8MAR1913 age 84 years. Lucy Deyone (27OCT1833-28APR1926) d. Perth Parish and was the daughter of Charles Roberts and of Harriet “Richleau” (?). Their family appears in the 1871 census of Perth Parish as John (45) and ‘Lucey’ (35) ‘Youn’ (both b. Quebec) with children Abraham (13), ‘Poley’ E. (daughter, 12), Alexander (8), George (7), ‘Harritt’ P. (5) and Albert (1). Albert J. Dionne (22AUG1869-22OCT1934) was the son of John and Lucy (Roberts) Dionne. When Albert married in 1891 he gave his parents as ‘Jeremia’ and ‘Lucia’ (Roberts) Dionne.
Next door to Alex and Jessie, in 1901, was a ‘Pierie’ family including William ‘Perie’ b. Scotland 15AUG1827. This would appear to be Jessie’s father. A William Perie and Phoebe Roberts were in Perth in 1888; but that may be a younger William. William and Phoebe (Roberts) Perry were in Pokiok in 1892 and Red Rapids in 1893. He is also given (1897) as Frederick William Pirie and she as Phoebe Jane Roberts. A son, also Frederick William Pirie, was Minister of Lands and Mines for NB 1935-1945. William (m. Phoebe Jane Roberts) is given as a s/o William and Margaret (Scott) Pirie at:

He was a federal senator from 1945 until he died in 1956.
In their marriage record, Alex was Alexander ‘Yone’ and Jessie was Mary Jessie Pirie. His parents were Jeremiah and Lucy (Roberts) Yone and hers were William and ‘Margt’ (Wilson) Pirie. Mrs. William Pirie (b. Aberdeen, Scotland ca. 1835), d. Grand Falls 30JAN1912 age 77 years. This would be Margaret Pirie (b. 3JUL1835) living two households from William and his son, James ‘Pierie’ in 1901. Margaret and a son, Gordon Pirie (18MAR1875) lived with George (18FEB1864) and Alice (13AUG1871) ‘Dyone’. George would be the George b. ca. 1867 in 1871 and Alex’s brother. According to birth records, George’s wife was Alice Pirie, and, apparently, Jessie’s sister. George (18FEB1864-17MAY1932) was the s/o Jeremiah and Louise (Roberts) Dionne.
