I am searching for an obituary for Joseph Hartin, husband of Jane Chambers Hartin, and brother to Rev. Thomas Hartin of Canterbury, New Brunswick. Joseph last appears in the 1871 Census of Canterbury, so his death would be between 1871 and 1881. He had children: Rebecca, Nancy, Joseph, Jr., Matilda, Margaret, John, Moses, Robert and Mariah. Any help deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

I have some information on John S. Hartin who married Leah Van Tassel on January 1, 1882 in Orient, Maine. Is this the same family?

I am not able to help you with an obituary but I am also from this line and was wondering if you had any information you could share with me. I descend from joseph and janes (chambers) daughter mariah(married solomon day). I cannot find any information past joseph and jane, except that they came from Ireland.
Any information would be much appreciated
Pam

I have that she was born in Canterbury, N.B. Canada married a Charles Tidd on April 1, 1875 on the Cary Plantation, Civil, Aroostook, Maine. Has a daughter named Susan Tidd and she married Kenneth Mcpherson. They resided in Rumford, Maine. Her middle name is Elizabeth. I hope some of this will help. I know somewhere along this line there is either Mohawk or Cherekee blood from either Lydia or her mother.

Hi,
Thanks for answering. Actually, I supplied the data that is on the York County website. How do you connect to the Hartins? Where in Ireland do you live? Are you near Limavady or Drumachose?
Would love to hear from you.

Surnames: Quigley, Conley, Connely, Hartin
I have this Lydia living in the household of Thomas B. and Mary Ann (Quigley) Conley (Connely), aged 11 (or 12) in the 1871 census -- New Brunswick -- York -- Canterbury. Mary Ann Quigley sailed from Londonderry on the ship "Sarah" arriving at St. John's NB on 8 Jun 1849. The J. and J. Cooke Passenger lists show that Mary Ann was from Limavady. Immediately preceding her was William, James and Rebecca "Harton" also from Limavady. My belief is that William and Rebecca were the parents of the large family of Hartins already made mention of in this discussion thread: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nbyork/hartin/pafg01.htm#7...
According to this listing, Lydia was the daughter of William and Rebecca's son Marcus Hartin.

Of significance -- Thomas and Mary Ann (Quigley) Conley moved to and died in Aroostook Co., Maine -- Thomas on Dec. 27, 1909 at Washburn, ME and Mary Ann on 13 Jun 1903 in Wade Plantation.

I am quite interested in the Quigleys as a genetic test has turned up a 4th cousin match with me at an "extremely high" level of confidence.
