Hello, Sheila
I work as an archivist with the RCMP in Ottawa. Our unit is responsible for preserving the corporate memory of the organization. We manage both operational and administrative records. It so happens I am creating a finding aid for one of our records; the 1953 investigation of the unsolved murder of Leonard McIntyre in 1953. I was curious about the history of Barker's Point and thought I would do a little bit of diggin on my own and this is how I ended up perusing your "link".
There is wealth of geneological information on this file, not only dealing with the McIntyre family but their neighbours (who were interviewed as part of the investigation) and there is quite a bit of detail documenting other aspects of the African-Canadian community at this period of time. Please make a formal Acess to Information Request (ATIP). This can all be done on line. Here is the link.

File Number: 53-HQ-681-J-1
Caption: McIntyre, Leonard Douglas
Because this is such an old file, more than likely all of the information will be accessible.
