iam looking for anyone who can shed a light on this matter for me.i have put together from reliable sources that j.enos ray,who was speaker of the house of delegates in md. and who the enos ray school (just outside of wash.d.c.)was named after(you can google him up and ''political graveyards'' appears. he is my 3 or 4 grandfather.his father enos ray had bought slaves that were released in 1854 ,and there names were eliza hinton james ,emily and the hansons i believe.they were bought from aman from n.c. ihave the original papers of ''ownership and who they were bought from,etc. in a vault .what is mentioned in other places that jane ray,worked on the farm and became the ''first mullatto teacher'' also i have read that alfred ray was her brother.it is acomplicated family and i am trying to figure it out---many cover ups and charicatures who did what they wanted i would like to acknowledge this member of the family at least and certainly any hard won battles she must of incountered enos ray
