Hi Donald,

I had John's wife as Elmira Goddard and do have a list of 13 children one being Asa 'Ace' Gordon so I think this is the right family.

My g grandfather is one of the sons -Henry Bennett Gordon b.August 6, 1854.

If you have more information on any line of that family I'd certainly welcome it and of course will share any that I have if you wish it.

I was hoping that someone could shed some light on where in England John came from - some notes from my mother indicated that the family originated in Elgin, Scotland and were United Empire Loyalists! No verification of that, though.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Lynne

Lynn,

I have this family from the Goddard side and I have 15 children. John and Elmira are both buried in First North River Cemetery, Intervale, Westmorland Co., NB, also on the tombstone are two daughters names and dates. They died the same year as their father. I sent you and email with more info but it was returned.

I tried to send an e-mail but it wouldn't go through. Not sure what I'm doing wrong - I used the address that showed at the top of your post. Here's the e-mail message: Thanks for the reply to the board query. I acquired quite a bit of the Goddard information through the Graves line. My g g grandfather(Henry Bennett Gordon) married Mary Evelyn Graves . Henry B's maternal grandmother was Isabella Graves and she was a sister of Mary Evelyn's paternal grandfather! Confused yet? So I guess they were actually second cousins. Isabella married a Goddard.

I would welcome any information you'd like to share with me and I also would send you any/all that I have.

Some other people on the Gordon side have been in contact and so I've been able to fill in quite a few people who were descended from Henry B's siblings.

I still have not been able to go the one generation back from John E. Gordon yet but will persevere with that.

Lynne,

I think probably your John Gordon could be a brother to Thomas Gordon who appears in Kings County, NB. There are several Gordon's there. They John and Thomas are similar in age. I don't know why your email didn't come through. unless you did a typo. Try again sherrillc@rogers.com

Hi. George Wyman Gordon is my 3rd Great Grandfather. John Gordon and Elmira Goddard are his parents. I have been trying to find the rest of the family line for John Gordon and was hoping maybe one of you had found his parents?

Thanks,
Gabrielle
