Hello Richard,
So nice to hear from you again. I too am still trying to find more info on Cotties family and will certainly pass on anything I get to you.
I also heard that rumor about my grandfather having another family in the States..don' t know if there is any truth to that tho.
Never heard that Cottie took him back in ,..but I will email you with more info on that subject

Frank Hopkins was married to Cottie Jane and Jimmy Hopkins was Frank's father. Jimmy Hopkins father was Walter Hopkins and he was born in Ireland in 1802

Frank Hopkins came back to Sackville after Cottie passed away. My mother was born in 1914 and she was about 4 when her father went away. We heard stories that Frank had another family in the states but no proof of this. The children were put on to foster homes and my mother went to live with Bedford Fillmore in Bayside NB just outside Port Elgin , NB
