Re: Genealogies of Catholic Families of Aroostook County, ME and the diocese of Edmunston, NB
Hi Christine, I am looking for information on Catherine (McEachern) McLean(ca.1817-1868) and Roderick McLean(ca.1815-??). They are listed in the 1861 Canadian Census, Madawaska Parish, Victoria, New Brunswick: Roderick McLean ae.46 born: Nova Scotia Catherine McLean 44 Nova Scotia Catherine McLean 11 Nova Scotia Angus McLean 10 Nova Scotia John McEachern 24 Nova Scotia Daniel McEachern 20 Nova Scotia I think I have found Catherine, wife of Roderick McLean d. 11 Nov 1868, age 50. She is buried at St. Luce Cemetery, Frenchville, Maine.
Their Daughter: Catherine McLean m. Daniel Chisholm, His Parents were Angus Chisholm and Catherine McCarron.. Daniel Chisholm and Catherine are listed in the St.Hilaire, Victoria, NB Census 1881: Daniel Chisholm 40 b. Nova Scotia Catherine Chisholm 36 Nova Scotia Annie 11 NB Daniel 10 NB Alexander 7 NB Wallace 5 NB
Catherine McLean Chisholm d. 5 Mar 1885. Buried at St.Hilaire, NB. Daniel Chisholm m. Catherine (Lehey) Nadeau 1886.She died in St.Hilaire when Donald was very young.. Donald. d. 1917 in Fort Kent, Maine. Daniel Chishom his father, also died in 1917 in Millinocket, ME and His other son, Wallace Chisholm d. in 1917 in Millinocket, ME. My Grandmother used to tell me this and I have found the death records.
The Info I am looking for is: Who were the Parents of: Catherine McEachern and Roderick McLean? Did they have other children before Catherine and Angus? When did Roderick McLean die and where?
Where in Nova Scotia did they come from? OR would they have been born in New Brunswick and back then it was all Nova Scotia????
In the 1871 census for Madawaska Parish, Victoria, NB. Roderick McLean and his son Angus are listed..
In the 1881 Census Angus McLean is listed living in the household of Leon Morne. He was 27. No more listing of Roderick McLean I do not know if he would of died between 1871 and 1881 or if he moved someplace else..
Angus McLean m. Anastasie Daigle d/o Firmin Daigle and Elodie Albert, St.Francois, NB. 1883-04-08. Many of Angus McLean's decendents are buried in Baker Brook Cemetery, Baker Brook, NB.
any info you may have on this family would be very helpful.Thank you so very much for helping people with this kind of information...
