I have finally managed to get a clue as to the surname of my GGG grandmother. She is listed as Hannah Hasen on her son's death certificate. I have also seen her name as Hannah Mary. She was supposedly born in Oromocto in about 1831.
I would not be surprised that the correct spelling of Hasen was actually something else, even including Hanson. A quick glance of the PAN databases did not turn up anything for Hasen and it's versions for the early to mid 1800's. Does anyone have any Hasen's placed in this area and timeframe?
Edited: It looks like I originally posted this a bit too soon. I have found some Hazen's in the 1851 census, including a Hannah Hazen of the approximate correct age. Back to the PANB I go!
