Benjamin Bailey / Susannah Wanty mystery-any final anser?

Surnames: Bailey, Parsons, Wanty
Has anyone definatively solved the "mystery" on Benjamin Bailey, 1758-1830? I have Levi Parsons b 1775 married to Sarah Bailey b 1777 in my tree, ,as do a lot of people. However, every reference that i see to Benjamin Bailey doesn't add up. He is listed as being a loyalist who emigrated to NB in 1783. But his children, ie Sara, are listed as being born in NB in 1777 or earlier. I also see a lot of references that his wife Susannah Wanty is the daughter of Judge John Wanty, but he was born almost 75 years earlier. Finally, I see a few mentions of a Jean Wanty as her father, and the son of Judge Wanty.
I have checked the boards, and see other people who have drawn the same conclusions. Has anyone filled in the holes? Is there a different Benjamin Bailey? I apologize if this is redundant, or has already been answered. I'm stumped.

Benjamin Bailey shows up petitioning for land in Sunbury Co., NB from 1785 to 1808. Of course, before 1785, Sunbury Co. was part of nova Scotia and took in most of the Saint John River Valley. He received grants in Sunbury Co. in 1788 and in Fredericton Parish, York Co (apparently a town lot) in 1788. By 1810 he appears to be settled in Oromocto, Sunbury Co., NB. At:

is the mention of a petition suggesting that Benjamin was one of the Maryland Loyalists. On the other hand, the 1783 Studholme report at:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nbsunbur/sunburycountydocu...
states:

"7. Benjamin Bailey has a wife and 4 children, a log house and about 6 acres of cleared land. Has been on about 3 years from Merimashee. Plundered and drove off by the rebels; took arms and fought against a privateer's crew, so he says.

This suggests that he was one of William Davidson's pre-Loyalist settlers on the Miramichi River, and left there about 1780. I would think that if he was "Plundered and drove off by the rebels" he was in NB before 1783. If this is the same Benjamin Bailey then the tale of his being a Loyalist is unlikely.

Thank you Thomas. My suspicion is that this may be a differetn Benjamin Bailey. I think that a lot of people may have misinformation in their trees, when relating to the parents of Sarah Bailey, married to Levi Parsons. I will keep lookign for a link to them.
