The genealogical records I have found on my William Ward line shows him b 1798 Ireland, RC, in Oromocto, NB in 1818. As he was only 20, I doubt that he travelled too far from the port he arrived at. All indications are that he arrived alone as there is no mention of parents or siblings. In my search of arrivals, there are minimal records of that time period. I found one ship leaving from the port of New Ross Ireland which I understand was a common departure port, with RC faimles from Wexford and Carlow counties listing a Tiney Ward with 10 family members going to Upper Eastern Canada in November 1817 which would have arrived in 1818.
I know Upper Canada is Ontario, but where is Upper Eastern Canada? Maybe referencing Kingston area?
I somehow doubt it but wondering if he was part of the Tiney 10.
Can anyone give me a tip on early ship arrivals. Lots of information after the 1840's
