Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
I am researching parental lineage and family history on the following Sunbury County, NB couple:
Charles Alexander PHILLIPS b.=26 August 1828 in Fredericton Jct., NB d.=08 July 1913 in Lyons, Burt Co., Nebraska m.=02 November 1852 in somewhere in NB to:
Emmeline B. CARR b.=23 February 1835 in Geary, NB d.=18 July 1915 in Lyons, Burt Co., Nebraska
This couple had a total of 10 children of whom I do not know who all was born in NB prior to relocating/immigrating to Illinois in the year 1865. I would appreciate any parental lineage information on either Charles and or Emmeline and any other family information which someone may access to. Thanks

Re: Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
Hello Jon,
Parents of Emaline Garraty Carr were William O. Carr b. 1811 Geary, Burton, Sunbury, NB & Mary Ann Whelpley b. 1811 Maugerville, Sunbury, NB.
Sorry, I don't have any more info on either of them.
Maybe you can help me with some of that?
Arn.

Re: Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
Arn, thanks very much for the Carr information.Since that old query of mine, I had found out more info on Emmeline Garrity Carr, but your info is helpful in confirming what I do have. At this time, I do not have any information on the Howe's, but will keep my eyes open. Thanks very much for your response.

Re: Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
Arn, thanks once again! I do not have much information on Emmeline Garrity Carr's mother's family.....Mary Ann Whelphey. I could use some info on her if you have it. Also how far back do you take the Phillips lineage? I have it back to Matthew Phillips dob of abt 1712 in Essex Co. NJ. Likewise with the Carr's. I have them back to Macres Carr dob of May 05, 1731.
I can convert Gedcom to FTM files which I use. Thanks for your help. Jon

Re: Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
Jon, I'm interested in your Macres Carr b. 1731. I have a Joseph Maccares Carr b. Salisbury, MA, 25 Dec. 1757, who m. Silence Ford, and named a son Mecres Carr. Joseph's father was Maccares or Macries. What was the source of this unusual name? Joseph and Silence lived in Montville, ME - Silence has a Mayflower line to Henry Samson.

Re: Phillips/Carr Family Lineage
Regarding the name Macrest - or as you have it Macres. Actually the variations might surprise you. Joseph Macres(t) Carr was the son (I think) of Macrest Carr who was the son of Sylvanus Carr and Lydia Macrest. Lydia Macrest was the daughter of Joseph Macrest and Sarah Dole (John, Richard, William). Joseph Macrest was the son of Benoni Macrest and Lydia Fifield. Now Benoni Macrest is said to be the illegitimate of Daniel MacDonnell and Sarah Dawes. To read the story go to http://www.jowest.net/Genealogy/Jo/Sargent/Horton.htm and make your own conclusions.
