Per Danny Johnson's newspaper stats, one of my ancestors is listed as being buried in the Methodist Burying Ground, Carleton. Which cemetery would this be known as today?

Thanks for your help.

So would that be the one across the street from the Church of England cemetery?

Oops, I missed the word "Carleton" in your original post. Yes the one across the street on Thorne Ave is the Old Methodist Cemetery, but that is not Carleton.

There is a small cemetery in west Saint John (was Carleton) called "Tower Hill Cemetery", and an old Loyalist cemetery at Carleton Kirk that no longer has any stones. See the Google maps links attached.

Thanks for the links and mention of the old cemetery at Carleton Kirk. I was just asking my husband at that the other day, couldn't remember if I dreamed it or what!

Here is the notice in Danny's archives -
Daniel F. Johnson : Volume 74 Number 2967

Date August 17 1889
County Saint John
Place Saint John
Newspaper Saint John Globe

d. Rothesay (Kings Co.) Saturday 17th inst., Mary F. DUNN w/o Edward F. DUNN, left husband, four children. Funeral from her residence Fairville (St. John) Monday 19th inst. by train leaving Rothesay at 8 o'clock p.m. Interment in Methodist burying ground, Carleton.

Was just trying to figure out if that would actually have been what is now Cedar Hill.

I posted your question on a FB group I am on and the consensus is Carleton Kirk cemetery. There was a Carleton Methodist church on Guilford St, but the people on the group don't think there was a separate cemetery. One person has a book with a list of the graves at Carleton Kirk and will do a look up when she gets home. I will send any info she finds.

Heard back from my source and there are no Dunns listed for Carleton Kirk Cemetery. She also checked Greenwood and Good Shephard cemeteries and there are no Dunns listed there either.
