My grandfather, Robert Roscoe Melvin was born in Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada in 1884. His father was Robert Henry Melvin and his Mother was Mary Carcilla Sellars. I would like to know who was the father of Robert Henry. There is a connection with St. Martins and I am trying to find the link. Robert seems to be the predominant name. If there is anyone who is able to connect I would love to hear from you.

The parents of Robert Henry Melvin (b. circa 1860) were Robert Melvin (b. 1814) and Abigail Bradshaw. I have much data on the Melvins and can take this line back several generations for you. Please email me so that we can exchange data.

Hello. I am also interested in the info that you have on Robert melvin & abigail Melvin from st Martin's, nb. I found some suggestion that they may be the relatives of my husband's. His grandmother is joy Aileen Melvin, her mother was Mildred Aileen Melvin, her father was Thomas melvin(1867) and mother Mary Ann Kearney(b1867). Trying to find a solid piece of evidence as to Thomas's family.

Deanna; Robert Henry Melvin and Mary Carcilla Sellars are my great-grandparents. Robert's Son George Dexter Melvin is my Grandfather. If you would like to contact me, please feel free. Sean Blakney was my sister Grace's son, who she gave up for adoption and was adopted by this family. I had the privilege of meeting him a few years ago. I have written an extensive book on the Melvin Family and where they came from and how they ended up in NB. Mildred Aileen Melvin 06/20/1901 [William John McAdam] Microfilm F18063 [PANB] Mildred had 11 siblings with two being stillborn, according to provincial records. Thomas has relatives in Vermont as well, through George H.F. [McNutts]. P. Wood littlemisses2@yahoo.ca

Re: Donald Sellars family in Lepreau, Charlotte NB on 1881 census
Mary Carcilla Sellars was born 1860 Lepreau, Charlotte Co., NB. [Donald Sellars/Roxanna Kimbell] [Sea Captain- Mosher Hill Cem. St Martin’s, NB] Irish/Scotch[Mary d. 02/15/1945 Buried -Cedar Hill Ext., Fairville, NB [SB S98/99 -Obits #6 P185 Col 7 -P59 Col 3 Reg.. # 51378 Vol 165 F19394 Public Archives if NB. Public Archives has no birth record for Robert/Mary, no do I have a marriage certificate. I was told that Her Parents were Daniel and Rowena - which is close to Donald and Roxanna. I am just establishing this lineage now that I have finished the Melvin side.

I may have read this before, I am not certain. However, Thomas [M. A. Kearney] was Robert Henry Melvin's brother. Robert's son George Dexter was my grandfather. Please contact me- I have been doing research on my family and have gone back many generations.
