Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
I do not find the death of Margaret Chedore/Masse (nee Hunt) in the on-line death records of the NB Archives?
Do you have any information on Elizabeth Hunt who married an Ingram? Where they were married; where they lived?

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Hi Go to: New Brunswick Archives RS315A :: Index des permis d'inhumer de la ville de Saint-Jean 1889-1919
Nom HUNT, MARGARET* Âge 36 Date 1917-09-13 Lieu de Naissance BALMORAL Comté Restigouche Volume 26 Numéro 759 Microfilm F20762
It is only today I notice she was buried in St John. I wrongly indicated she was buried in Balmoral. There is no act to be seen.
For Elizabeth Hunt, see included act. Let me know if she is part of Georhe and Emily Mary's familly.

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Margaret Hunt Irene Coffin, age 19 and born in C’ton d/o Charles and Emily Coffin married John Graves (an actor) on March 14, 1919 in Saint John NB. However, we know that she was actually born Irene Stella Jardine d/o Margaret Hunt and Theodore Jardine and it has been said that Emily (Hunt) Coffin was her maternal grandmother. One Elizabeth Hunt, widow of George Doucitt/Doucette, married William Ingram on July 10, 1892 in Saint John, NB. Elizabeth died Oct. 14, 1949 (born July 26, 1867 in England per death record) in Saint John NB . The informant was her son but more likely her stepson which would explain why he gave her father’s name as James Hunt and did not know her mother’s name. In 1941 James Leslie Chedore of Saint John NB entered the US at Vanceboro Maine on September 14, 1946 giving his aunt Elizabeth Ingram as his C’dn contact and his sister Mrs. Irene Morrison of Portland Maine as his US contact. One Irene S. Morrison died January 7, 1973 in Waterville, Maine at the age of 72. One James Leslie Chedore , age 73 died January 11, 1980 in Brunswick, Maine at age 73. I have not seen a marriage record for Irene and her Morrison husband. The on-line death certificate in 1941 for William Ephraim Stokes (born William Ephraim Chedore in Maine) accounts for the fourth child of Margaret Hunt for which there is a record. Her children: Irene, John James, William Ephraim and Mary Viola Grace.

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Hi, Excellent!
John Grwaves and Irene are Erie, New York in 1920. Yhey have a son of 2 months called Edward. They live at Charles L. Sherrill.
Irene Coffin remarried, after her divorce from John Greaves, to Harols Morrisson in Pourtsmouth, Mass on Oct. 12, 1934. The age she mentionned for Charles Coffin at his death put his death ca 1915-1920. For her mother, smack on 1920.
In 1940, Irene and her husband live Ward 6, Portland, Portland City, Cumberland, Maine, United States with three kids:
Edward D Morrison M 20 New York son Ernest J Morrison M 19 Massachusetts son Marion E Morrison F 3 Maine
The first two are prob. Greaves.
Enjoy!

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Thank you. We are left to wonder if Irene ever told her children who her real parents were. Irene's stepfather moved to Portland, Maine ca 1921 and we are also left to wonder if this is what led her to eventually relocate to Maine.

|
Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Yes to USA Nov. 27, 1919 via Buffalo name spelled Greaves.

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Hi,
So, you are saying that Joseph-Louis Massé went to the USA at the same time as Irene. Was he remarried? Where was he located?
Bizarre that we do not find Charles Coffin death act!
Irene was identifying Charles Coffin as her father, So, she was not considering Massé as her step father???

Re: George Harvey, Nash Creek
Irene was d/o Theodore Jardine and Margaret Hunt. Margaret next partner or husband was a Chedore and therefore also stepfather of Irene. After his death Margaret married Masse so he too was the stepfather of Irene.
I believe Masse's second marriage as been documented on this board.
