I might be interested in your photos of tombstones of Jacquet River, Nash Creek and St. Francis in Charlo. My great grandfather was James Martin who was married to Sarah Rodgers-they are buried at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. James father was George Martin and his mother was Dorothy Laviolette. George was a widower who married Dorothy Laviolette in Beresford in 1839. James was born in Jacquet River in Aug. of 1840. I am trying to find more information on George Martin. Also, my grandmother Angelina Levesque was from Charlo. Her parents were Edouard Levesque and Lucie Quinn. The McIntyre name appears in some of the church records associated with my family at St. Francis Xavier - most likely related somehow. Let me know if any of these names appear in your genealogy. Thanks

Do you have any photos in the Campbellton area of Miller gravestones or Glovers? My gg-grandfather Joshua Miller was from there and his mother supposedly had land along the Restigouche River. Joshua Miller and Margaret Glover. Thanks for any help.

Kristine,
Thank you! I didn't realize you aren't in New
Brunswick! I am fairly certain my g-g-grandparents were
buried in Campbellton area - one of my aunts mentioned something about 'the Irish graveyard' there - not sure if
she means 'Notre Dame des Neiges' or another one. At any rate, I thank you for your reply and best wishes for a
great trip back!

Hi, I realize this is late to your query. There are graves in the Notre Dame des Neige Cemetery on Ramsay St. in Campbellton for O'Keeffes. "Daniel O'keeffe died July 13, 1910 age 75 years and his wife Bridget Doyle 1849 - 1939. Mary O'Keeffe 1874 - 1938 wife of W. S. Montgomery, Raymond O'Keeffe 1883-1943, Charles A. Dalton 1917 - 1953 and his wife Maude O'LKeeffe 1881 - 1970.

I dont know what information you have. In the records of St. Anne De Restigouche - Nov 4, 1873, Bridget Doyle, daughter of John Doyle and Elizabeth Doyle married Daniel O'Keeffe son of Daniel O'Keeffe and Catherine Maher.

at. St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery: Hugh J. O'Keeffe 1885-1968 and his wife Opal C. Keays 1891 - 1981. and also thre Mfarguerite O'Keeffe 1883 - 1955 wife of Dow Van Horne.
and Charles S. Mahoney 1914 - 1958 husband of Marie O'Keeffe.

Perhaps you already have this information. Have a nice day....Harry Ferguson, Campbellton

Greetings Harry Ferguson!

Thank you very much for contacting me! Unfortunately
I already had that information: what I am trying to locate
are the graves of Daniel O'Keeffe and Mary Catherine O'Keeffe ( maiden name 'Maher' ). They were my g-g-grandparents and were living in Campbellton ( or general
Restigouche area ) at the time of the 1851 and 1861 censi.
There is no record of them by 1881 ( although their children
-including Daniel who is buried at Notre Dame des Neiges -
continued to live in Campbellton )so I am assuming they died
and were interned there, but where???
I have tried looking through the microfiche records
for Notre Dame des Neiges, but the quality was so poor it was difficult to learn anything new! The Daniel whose grave
you spotted was the owner of the 'InterColonial Hotel', which burned in the fire of 1910 ( four days before he died ). My father's family all grew up in Campbellton, although
they have all moved away since, except for my cousin Ron
Mahoney, who himself died last fall. Perhaps you knew of him
- he was the city manager for awhile before he became ill.

Thank you again!

Hi, I saw your query and my great grandmother's name was Ellen Glover m. James Crawford. They lived in Campbellton, NB. Have you by any chance run across any information about them in your research. I've hit a brick wall at every turn.
