Sorry, I can't help with this query, but noticed the name Eatman. Do you know anything about the family of a Dubert Eatman and Leora Holmes married in Fredericton in 1927?

3. JAMES WALLACE EATMAN (EATMON) b. Elm Hill, Hampstead Parish, Queens Co., NB 14MAR1882, d. Lancaster D.V.A (Dept. of Veteran's Affairs?) Hospital Co., Lancaster Parish, Saint John Co., NB 16NOV1956 age 74 years, 8 months and 2 days, buried Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension, Woodstock Rd., Fredericton, York Co., NB, m. THURSA (THURZLEY, THERESA, THESALLY, THURZA?) LEVINA WRIGHT (b. Cumberland Bay, Grand Lake, Queens Co., NB 25SEP1887, d. 42 Eatman Avenue, Barker's Point, St. Mary's Parish, York Co., NB 1JUN1957 age 69 years, 8 months and 4 days), d/o John and Amelia (McIntyre) Wright.
James was a private in the 25th Battalion of the C.E.F. in WWI. When he joined, his next-of-kin, his wife Theresa, lived in Wilmot Alley in Fredericton, York Co., NB, but appears to have moved to 239 Charlotte St. He was a labourer when he joined up, at Sussex, kings Co., NB in 1915.
James (MAR1886) and 'Thurzaly' (SEP1888) Eatman were in Fredericton in 1911. The dates-of-birth in this census seem questionable. Their children at the time were Thelma (JUN1905), 'Duburg' M. (JAN1907, listed as a daughter) and Harry (MAR1910). Also with them was James' mother-in-law, Amelia Wright (JAN1866), Thursa's sister, Rosebud Wright (SEP1894) and James' sister, Olive Wright (MAR1895).
James was a self-employed brick layer until 1950. Like James, Thursa appears to have lived on Eatman Ave. in Barker's Point with her daughter, Mrs. thelma Nelson, until she died.
They lived at 239 Charlotte St., St. Ann's Ward, Fredericton in the 1921 census when James was age 39 and Thursa was 33. The family was Church of England, 'Negro' and all b. NB. The children were Thelma (17), Dubert (15), Harry (12), Mabel (9), Helen (8), Blanche (6), Jean (4), Hilda (4) and Arthuret? (1, given as a daughter).

Children:
31. THELMA LEONA EATMON b. Elm Hill, Hampstead Parish, Queens Co., NB 6JUN1904, m. _____ NELSON.
Thelma lived at Barker's Point across the river from Fredericton when her father died. James had likely been living with her up until 6 months before.
32. DUBERT EATMAN b. Elm Hill, Hampstead Parish, Queens Co., NB JAN1907 (ca. 1909), m. Police Station, Fredericton, York Co., NB 19SEP1927 LEORA ALBERTA HOLMES (b. Otnabog (Elm Hill), Hampstead Parish, Queens Co., NB 26NOV1910), d/o Isaac and Sarah (McIntyre) Holmes.
A witness, when they married, was Mrs. Isaac Homes of 219 Charlotte St. Fredericton and another was Nathaniel Jones. The clergyman was J.? F. Keirstead of the Reformed Baptist Church on Aberdeen St.
33. HARRY ELLIS EATMAN b. Queenstown, Queens Co., NB 1MAR1910.
34. MELBA (MABEL) OLIVE EATMON b. Fredericton, York Co., NB 23MAR1912, m. Christ Church Parish (Anglican) Church, Fredericton, York Co., NB 26FEB1942 FRANKLIN ALBERT FRANCIS (b. Kingsclear Parish (or Wilmot Alley, Fredericton), York Co., NB 7JUN1905 (ca. 1906, JUL1906)), s/o George Nelson and Annie (Hoyt) Francis.
35. HELEN SOPHRONIA EATMON b. Fredericton, York Co., NB 16MAY1913
36. BLANCH EATMAN b. Fredericton, York Co., NB 22MAY1915.
37. JEAN EATMAN (twin) b. Fredericton, York Co., NB 23FEB1917, d. Fredericton, York Co., NB 27MAR1925 age 8 years, buried Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension, Woodstock Rd., Fredericton, York Co., NB.
38. HILDA EATMAN (twin) b. Fredericton, York Co., NB 23FEB1917.
39. ARTHURET? (ARTHUR?) EATMAN b. ca. 1920.

James was a son of:

MAJOR EATMAN (EATMON) b. 16JAN1856 (ca. 1855-7), m. by the Rev. Harry 'Hanes' 9MAY1877 HANNAH HOLMES (b. JUN1857 (ca. 1858-60)).
Living (and likely working) for Harry and Sarah Hains in Hampstead Parish, Queens Co., NB in 1871. Like the Hains, he was b. NB, African and Free Christian Baptist.
'Majer' and Hannah Eatmon were in Hampstead Parish in 1881. Major was a labourer, and the family was b. NB, African and Baptist. When married, the ceremony was in his own home, and both were of Hampstead Parish.
'Magu? Eatmun' and Hannah were in Hampstead Parish in 1891 and 1901.

Jacqueline, in spite of the advise given by Ancestry.com in their television advertisements, it is NOT a good idea to post your date-of-birth. In addition to your 'phone number, address, whom you married, your parents, etc., you have just given someone enough information to steal your identity and possibly access your banking information. It may still be possible to edit your posting and removed the more personal information. Use the little pencil-like icon below your message.

It's a common mistake. The best rule-of-thumb is to be careful what you post about people still alive, or dates from the past 90-years.

Several years ago, I wrote a very large, haphazard, incomplete and fill-with-errors work called, "Families of African Descent in New Brunswick" for my sister's family. In particular the Eatman/Eatmon and Mcintyre families appears to be amongst those families known as Black Loyalists as well a involved in the settlement of Elm Hill. I submitted a version to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick and don't really work on it much any more. It is far too large to post here; even the individual families being a bit large.

For security reasons I am reluctant to post my e-mail address here. I believe that you can send me a private message with your e-mail and I may be able to respond with at least those, two families. I think you can do that by clicking on my name. I was unable to access a lot of information, marriage records, church records, probate records, etc. so I feel someone with access to those could possible add a great deal more than I have done.
