I would like to suggest Aaron that you search in the Caraquet area of NB . There are quite a few Gallien in that area of the province . Odette Haché has copied the church records of the region i.e. baptism , death etc They are for sale in bookstores . You also can go to the Caraquet library. They may be able to direct you to the right persons for info . Also the Moncton University campus in Shippagan . Good luck in your search . ------Claudia

Wow, I was just searching for Galliens and I found this post! My dad's mother was a Hachey also! Now I need to find that book. I live in Athol, MA. USA. My grandfather was Max Gallien born 1863 and his wife was Mary Hachey. She died after having seven or eight children. She was hit by a horse and carriage I think, here in Athol. I also found Max's mom and dad were probably Jean and Agnes Gallien. Gotta find Agnes maiden name. My moms family was also from Caraquet NB, Malletts. Next to find their relatives. I think we may even have a line that goes to Rome, Gallienus was a Roman Emperor. Thanks for the info!

Thank you Ginette. Now I see Max Galliens family from yours! How exciting. We have a.cousin Mary Gionet, so I see how she is related, from my father's mother. She.died very young, so no one knows much about her side of the family. Thanks again! A distant relative... Doreen Gallien

Hello

It's nice to hear from other Gallien family, I'm the Grandson of Fredrick Galliah. The last name has been mis spelled by the census takers. The Gallien's came over from Quebec abt 1791. I'm also related to the Mallets My 3rd Great grandfather was Jules Mallet.

Nice to meet you too! My grandfather was Max. Was he your grandfathers brother? I had found a site that said we may be.related ro Gallienaus, a Roman Emperor. There is an Arch in France named doe him. Now I can't find that info. I've never been up your way. I need to go someday.
