Hi, thanks so much on your searching for a Nora Bowen.
This is a real mystery for our family. I figure this,
Nora Bowen, born 1857, St John's New Brunswick, her father was a William, born England or Wales, and her mother Mary, born in County Cork, Ireland. The family went to the US in 1868 from a US Census of 1900. Nora was her named used mostly, except when she was younger in her marriage to William Henry Russell who she married in Utah in 1875. She did use the name of Dorothy also. I have found no trace
in US Censuses of Nora or Dorothy Bowen so I figured the
1861 Canadian Census might have a young Nora or Dorothy Bowen. I even used Bowen, Bowan, Bohen, Bohan,Boen and a few more. I did notice in Northumberland county that were more Bowen families in New Brunswick. I am ruling out Ontario
because of US Censuses. However one census was she was born in Nova Scotia.
thanks Jim
