Looking for more information about family of David Newman (1774-1852) and Mary Sherwood (b abt 1774 in NY?). They lived most of their lives in New Brunswick, Canada. Want details of their children – names and birth/death dates. I have the following as possibilities: 1) John M. May 1791 – May 1836; 2) Hannah 1796 - ? (married I Leighton); 3) Phoebe 1802 – 1870 (married T Blackmore); 4) Timothy; 5) Hester; 6) Stephen; 7) Jane; 8) Mary; 9) Thomas; 10) Jonathan; 11) Elizabeth; 12) Jeremiah. My main “angle” with this inquiry is the fact that Phoebe is listed as a “native” (meaning Native American?) on the 1861 Census of Canada in Northesk, Northumberland, New Brunswick. Does anyone have any further information concerning this?
