Re: Rachel Jonah d/o Martin Jonah & Sophia Lutes/Lutz
I know this is an old post - but I am just now trying to figure out the marriages of Rachel Jonah, d/o Martin Jonah and Sophia Lutz. Do you have any evidence that these 3 marriages are all the same Rachel?
There was also a Moses Greeno who married Barbara Lutz (Nov 6 1823) Barbara was Rachel's aunt, Do you think it was the same Moses Greeno?
Any one know anything about Barbara Lutz? I have found no records for this couple

Re: Rachel Jonah d/o Martin Jonah & Sophia Lutes/Lutz
It has been years since I looked up the info but I know that Moses Greeno lived in Nova Scotia. I believe he and Rachel had a son. Not 100 % sure about Rachel's marriage to Greeno but I did find something in the NS vital statistics years ago.
I am trying to prove or disprove that Rachel had three children by her first husband, Wm. Ogden. I have been trying to connect Milledge Ogden to James Priestly Ogden and James' sister Charity Ogden. Have not found parents for either of them and William is the only son of John Ogden that I cannot find children for.

Re: Rachel Jonah d/o Martin Jonah & Sophia Lutes/Lutz
Based on the 1881 census I believe that William Ogden s/o John Ogden & Nancy Ogden m. a Rachel Jonah but this Rachel was born in 1794 so therefore she is not the same Rachel Jonah that married Duncan Campbell and Moses Greeno.
I found a Duncan Campbell in "Find a Grave" that died at 51:
Birth: unknown Death: May 2, 1847 Age 51 yrs at time of death. Burial: Second Falls United Baptist Cemetery Second Falls Charlotte County New Brunswick, Canada
I also found a Duncan Campbell s/o of the above Duncan. I suspect these are the late son and husband of Rachel Jonah who married both Duncan Campbell and Moses Greeno but nothing concrete.
Birth: unknown Death: Aug. 18, 1850 Age 12 yrs at time of death. Burial: Second Falls United Baptist Cemetery Second Falls Charlotte County New Brunswick, Canada
Hope this is helpful.

Re: Rachel Jonah d/o Martin Jonah & Sophia Lutes/Lutz
Here is how I see it. Rachel Jonah married William Ogden Jan 3 1822 - there is a death of a William Ogden April 1 1828 After he died she married Duncan Campbell - Dec 17, 1829
After he died she married Moses Greeno - date unknown but before son William was born in 1849 at Campobello. Later they lived in Kempt Nova Scotia where there seems to be a number of Greeno families. She and William are in the 1871 and 1881 census there
marriage record of William Ogden and Rachel Jonia Name: William Ogden Spouse's Name: Rachel Jonia Event Date: 03 Jan 1822 Event Place: Westmorland,New Brunswick Indexing Project (Batch) Number: M54164-1 , System Origin: New_Brunswick-ODM , GS Film number: 847576
William Ogden Find A Grave Index Name: William Ogden Event Type: Burial Event Date: 1828 Event Place: Middle Sackville, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada Death Date: 01 Apr 1828 Affiliate Record Identifier: 131142419 Cemetery: Methodist Burying Ground On the grave is says "son of John"
If this William died in 1828 he is not the same one in the 1881 census you refer to. What place is that census for?
By the way, one of Rachel's cousins also married an Ogden from Sackville area As for the Duncan Campbell you have from Charlotte Co. I would doubt it is the same one since Charlotte is in the far opposite corner (NW) of NB from Westmoreland/ and Albert. I have found that most often, people from this area tend to go either to Nova Scotia or to Massachusetts or Maine., since at that time there were few if any railways and most transportation was by ship. However it is definitely worth looking into this Duncan Campbell.
Thanks for the info and keep in touch if you discover any info - we need all the help we can get in this game!
