My second great grandfather was George Sutherland. He was born in Scotland, c 1793, and he died 24 Nov 1863 in Weldford, Kent, NB and was buried in Weldford. I don't have his wife's name, but he is believed to have had at least two children, James Sutherland, b. circa 1820 in Main River, Kent, and possibly Samuel Kent Sutherland, b. circa Aug 1842, Kent, NB. Please note the 22 year difference between ages for James and Samuel. This could imply an error in the information I have.
James Sutherland was married to Mary Lawson, and the couple had 8 children, including Alexander (b. 08 Jul 1855, d. 21 Sep 1924), Robert Lawson (b.28 Feb 1857, d. 20 Sep 1930), Mary Esdale (b. 22 Jan 1859, d. 04 Sep 1945), George (#1) (b. Jun 1861, d. 27 Aug 1861), Jane (b. 11 Feb 1863, d. 21 Sep 1944), George (#2) (b. 23 May 1865, d. 26 Dec 1948), Elizabeth (Lizzie) (b. 06 Feb 1867, d. 01 Dec 1948), and James (b. circa 1868, d. 05 Aug 1895).
I am looking for information on George Sutherland and his family, including how George came to Kent, NB (via clearances or military, etc), what he did for work, who was his wife, and who were his children. I believe George was Presbyterian.
Any information will be helpful, all corrections are very much appreciated.
Thank you.
