Thanks Ginette for your hard work...
As I too found "PETER HRENES", after an exhaustive search (playing how they might transcribe that surname...) and thought it must be Pierre but yes, *OMG* this surname takes on a life of its own in the records: Theriau, Theriault, Therriault, Tarrio, Terrio but on this 1861 Census I saw Therriean, Therrican, Therrieau and the not so obvious Harris and then Hrenes ...
Also the daughters names : Sara and Margret well, in 1871 they are Seraphy and Felicite and the wife Salome well, she is obviously Sarah on the 1861 and then in 1871 she is Marie. By the 1881 Pierre is a Widow.
So I am no closer to finding a birth or death for this couple though and given the trouble in the census I suspect they are not transcribed properly in any documentation this compounded by what first name to look for!!. I found Salmoe's parents Francois and Marguerite on the 1861 transcribed as Le Greasy ... that name too gets quite a number of variations.
