Angele Chaisson and Severe Landry
There is a gap between Octave 1844 and Phoebe 1848. Is it possible that they had a daughter Sara around 1847? My gr grandmother Sara Landry married Alexandre Collins 1876 in Caraquet, they had eleven children, Alexandre, Joseph, Julie, Sophie, Marie, Virginie, Elizabeth, Patrick, Nicholas, William and Leon. They were lived in New Bandon. Alexandre Sr. died in Grande Anse in May 1898, Sara in August 1918. Alexandre was a fisherman from Trois Rivieres, Que, Sara worked at the fish plant near Grande Anse. The records were lost in the two church fires.
The Marie Sara Landry listed in files is the daughter of Gilbert Landry and Angele Duguay and she married Augustin Godin.

Re: Severe Landry m. Angele Chiasson, Grande-Anse, 1841
Hello, We had discussed the identity of Angele, on this same message board in 2012 (see) . The couple Alexandre Collin & Sara Landry married 7 January 1867. Leon-Louis Collins ne *1889, with his mother Sara Landry, age 65, nee *December 1845, appear at New Bandon in the 1911 census. Next door the resident was Sylvestre Landry, ne *C1861- d. 1923; wife Elisabeth Guitard C1862-1942 (Pierre-Pascal Guitard & Elisabeth Bertin). Sylvestre & Elisabeth married at Belledune 9 August 1886, had issue: Marie *1887; Jeanne *1890; Louis *1895; and Pierre, *1898. In 1901 Olive Landry age 74, nee * 15 May 1826 was residing with her son Sylvestre. Sylvestre was son of Joseph Landry & Olive Lepage - I do not have their marriage date. Another possible couple who might be parents to Sara would be Isaac-Louis Landry * Grande-Anse 21 MAY 1812 (Simon Landry & Geneviève Haché) married Henriette Thériault 11 APR 1831 in Caraquet, In this case, examining the 1861 census to determine the age of Sara would tie this up. Re: Severe Landry m. Angele Chiasson, Grande-Anse, 1841
Thank you Also. I'm sorry, I just found the msg. The Isaac-Louis could be possible, as I made a DNA connection to Simon and Genevieve Landry. A Landry had previously run through some possibilities and thought Severe was the closest. Sylvestre may have been a cousin.
Leon Louis died of influenza in 1919, he had three children, who multiplied extremely well. There are about 200 of them in Gloucester area.
None of the family up there is able to find anything. The only record is Sara and Alex's church date and place, no family names.
The rest of the census records are under misspelled names of Collins all in New Bandon.
Thanks again

Re: Gilbert Landry m. Angele Duguay, 1831
Hello, My assessment is that Sara Landry's parents would NOT to be Severe & Angele. Here is yet another possible candidate couple: Gilbert Landry who died 1874 married 14 February 1831 Angele Duguay (nee * Shippagan 1809 - d Grande-Anse 1892). The best solution would be to see which couple in the 1861 census had a daughter named Sara Landry born in the period 1845-1848, who did not die in minority, therefore, is a potential match for Sara. Name stock is also evidence. Compare the names of siblings of the Sara who does match with the names of the Collin children.

Re: Gilbert Landry m. Angele Duguay, 1831
HI, I've been doing this for a over a decade and this is one of my brick walls. Sara Landry, daughter of Gilbert and Angele Duguay married Augustin Godin. She died in the 1920's or 30's. Gilbert was Simon's brother and Severe's uncle. The Sara's were close in age. Unfortunately I can't find a census record in the correct time period. I have tried looking at family names, but haven't had much luck. I did find a Julie who was I believe Simon's sister or aunt. It seems as if most of the Collins names were Irish. I did do a page by page census of New Bandon for a few years, and found that Severe and Gilbert were in the same area. She is really hard to find.I can't find her siblings S. I have tried going through distant cousins, Blanchard and Landry who were in my home town, but I can't get back far enough because of the church fires. Everything was last in the second fire. The first one they were able to save most.
I believe I had previously discounted Sylvester, but I will check again. It has to be one of them. The Landry who lived in the area felt certain Severe was her father, but I can't pinpoint it.He went through all the Landrys in the area and that's what he came up with.
The DNA doesn't help as they are all connected.. I hope to do my mother's line this spring, maybe that will help
Thanks

Re: Gilbert Landry m. Angele Duguay, 1831
Hi, i just found tree for Isaac Louis Landry, and there is a Sara, but the birth date is off my 10 year. that would have made her 11 when she got married. There is no other info with her name and there is a big gap between 1841 and 1849. Maybe they got the date wrong.

Sorry to bug you again. but according to a website Landry's in America. Severe and Angele did have a daughter named Sarah. she was born in 1849. That would put her in the right age group. There were family names as well in the listing. Julie, Sophie, Joseph

Yes, You are correct. Sara Godin, widow of Augustin Eloi Godin 1840-1923 , d/o Gilbert Landry & Angele Duguay, died at Paquetville 6 Sept. 1931 age 82y, 10m, 12 d. We can eliminate Gilbert as the father of your Sara.
Simon Landry (Anselme Landry & Marie Brideau) married Genevieve Ache at Bathurst 11 June 1804. Three of their sons, apparently married Into the Theriault lineage: Simon *1810 m. Frse Theriault 1830; Isaac Louis *1812 m. Henriette Theriault 11 April 1831; and Lange * 1814, m. R. Theriault 1837. We can notice a strong link to the Theriault lineage, which also shows up in Collin[s], doesn't it?
As you have successfully located Sara Landry among the children of Isaac Louis Landry & Henriette Theriault, you have only to locate that household in the 1861 census of Grande-Anse to determine Sara's approximate age, which was most probably misquoted in the PMT viewed. Sources have to be verified in earnest, as no one can depend upon these whimsical "trees" posted often carelessly with so little labour. Henriette Theriault is now a strong candidate for Sara's mother. There is strong promise in your search to date. Cheers, Aldo

Re: Family trees -or merely weeds?
The tree can not be excellent unless the work behind it was excellent; so every fact is dependent upon who researched the lineage and whether sources were reviewed properly. Aldo

I found Sarah in Severe and Angele line she is the 6th child born in 1849 in New Bandon. Someone sent me a copy of the 1861 Census of New Bandon and she is in this list. The list is confusing as it starts with Simon and his wife Francoise goes through a couple of kids then there is another Simon who is listed as 98, listed as brother in law, then Angele as daughter down through the other kids some of which are Sara, Sophia and Joseph. Marie had probably already left the home. This is a confusing list. There is no Severe or Angele. According to records I found Simon who married Francoise died in 1834 so couldn't have been in the 1861 census. Simon sr would have been 78 not 98, but he died in 1859. so I have no idea who these Simon's are. . As a history major I find this frustrating. These are government records but they make no sense. There was so much intermarriage between families it makes it more confusing. i did find that Marie Landry married Lazare Blanchard which also connects to my family, as my mother told me the Blanchards in our home town were distant cousins through her grandmother Sara. I'm trying to follow this line to confirm. After a dozen years this is getting old.
You said you had previously discussed Angele's parents. May i ask what age you have for her. One lists her as being born in 1814, the one we have is 1824, of course it could be just a typo. The 1814 Angele's parents were Paul and I believe Marguerite
