Also, the Sara, daughter of Isaac Louis is much too young. Is Severe one of your ancestors? I will try again to find the 1861 census, but for some reason it is elusive.
yes, my gr aunt Sophia married a Theriault.

Aldo, I tried to copy the 1861 census for you but was unable.to get it I''ll do it this way Simon husband, 50; Frances, wife 50; Roma(n) son, 24; Jean Bapt, son 17; Jeremiah son, 5; Ami dau 14 and Therndia? dau 14 (Twins); Mary or May dau, 12; Frances dau 8; then Abel Landry, widower, 35; and Simon Landry brother in law 98?; Angel Dau 18, Octavius son, 16; Venerant dau, 14; Sarah dau. 12; Basil son 10; Sophia dau, 8; Thomas son, 5; Joseph son 3.
There is no mention of Severe or Angele If Simon who married Frances Theriault died in 1834 who is this. Who is Simon who is 98 and whose brother in law is he.
Why are you so sure my Sarah isn't Severe and Angeles' daughter.? so far am unable to find Isaac Louis and his Sara was ten years younger.

I just went through some old files and found the one a Landry in the Caraquet area helped me with. He said the the name which is truncated is Angele, widow, 35, that would follow with Simon, either brother in law or father in law 98. that age is way off. for either. If he's her father in law he would have been 78, her brother in law would have been 51. Whatever the confusion in ages, I think this is my gr grandmother's family. I noticed on her death record she was listed as 75, that would have made her born in 1833, way too early.

Re: Sara Landry d/o Isaac & Henriette
census 1861 NB Schedule I. District: Lower Parish of New Bandon, Gloucester County folio 50. [ancestry image #338 of 445]. Isaac Landry, husband, age 51 [5 written over 4] years of age. Harriet Landry, wife, age 43. Dominick, son, age 18. Ann, daughter, age 21. Tharsile, daughter , age 15. Martha, daughter, age 13. SARAH, daughter, age 7. Filomene, daughter, age 4. Henriette, daughter, age 8 months. Neighbours are Theriau families. Other Landry families were recorded in New Bandon, 1861, notably: FABIEN Landry age 39, and wife Esther, age 39; JOHN Landry 40, and wife Jane 35; THEOPHILE Landry 30, and wife Pauline, 40; and XAVIER Landry 32, and wife Olesine?, age 26. They all had children listed, but no one named Sara[h] found except this one daughter of Isaac.
The Sarah listed above is recorded as seven years of age, which would indicate a birth about 1852, which is young to have married in 1867, however, if Sarah had children to near 1890, it is not impossible. Oddly, no child is listed born between Martha age 13, and Sarah age 7, so it is possible that Sarah was rather closer in age to Martha. In any case there is a Sarah recorded among the daughters of Isaac. I note that some people think Martha was a male, Martin. Aldo

I am copying here the initial query which entire thread is still recorded on this same message board.
Severe Landry m. Angele Chiasson, Grande-Anse, 1841 Aldo10 (View posts) Posted: 15 Mar 2012 5:59PM GMT Classification: Query Surnames: Chiasson, Cormier, Landry, Theriault Severe Landry of Grand Ance County of Gloucester and Angele Chiasson of the same Parish were married by banns with consent of parents this 18th day of July 1841 by me / Hect[or] Drolet /, Parish Priest. This marriage was solemnized between us / Severe x Landry / Angele x Chiasson / In presence of Antoine x Theriau / Luc x Doucet / No 627, Regd. 16 August 1841. Of this marriage issued four children: i. Marie, 15 June 1842 - 31 March 1922, age 80, m. Lazare Blanchard, 1861. ii. Octave, circa 1844 - 16 September 1889, age 45, m. Genevieve Theriault, 1869. iii. Phoebee, circa 1848 - 13 Feb 1898, age 49, m. Augustin Cormier, 1871. and iv. Basilice, 19 Oct. 1850 - 11 August 1923, age 73, m. Michel Cormier. Angela, Widow Landry, born about 1822/1823, was recorded living with her son Octavius Landry at New Bandon, 1881. Who were the parents of Angele Chiasson of Grande-Anse?
|
Severe Landry died before 1861, which could account for his widow living in 1861 with the family of Simon Landry 1810-1865 and his wife "Frances" Theriault.
Who was Angele? Angle died at Grande-Anse 30 Nov. 1902 age 78. DOB at Shippegan 24 Feb. 1824, d/o Jean-Chrysostome "Guitome" Chiasson 1792-1888 & Marie Magdeleine Brideau * Caraquet 1794. There were maybe a half dozen women named Angele Chiasson in the mid 19th century living locally, consequently, two of these women had their statistical data entangled together by a scholar, and the query disentangled these ladies as they were about a decade apart in age. I am distantly connected by marriage to the other Angele!

Re: Objet : Re: Sara Landry birth
the 1861 census puts Sara as Angele's child. the date of birth is different, but that isn't unusual. The family names are similar, Joseph, Marie, Sophia. Julie was Severe's sister, and my grandmother's name. Why are you so sure that this is incorrect. This is the only family that matches, date wise and name wise. isaac Louis's Sara was ten years too young.
If you have proof that Sara isn't Severe and Angeles daughter I would like to know what it is. She has to belong to the family. DNA has matched me to the Savoie's from Michel Hache Gallant.
Thank you Sarah
