Hello Carolyn,
I would be interested in any information you may have as Frances was my great grandfather, he was married to Barbara in Wisconsin and they had several children amongst them were francis #2 and my grandfather Donald Rennie Ferguson.
Francis #3 my cousin lives in the portland Oregon area and some members of the family live along the gulf coast in Biloxi Mississippi. I spoke briefly on the phone with Charles Ferguson who was my great Uncle and one of Francis and Barbara's sons though that was many years ago and he was quite old by than. I believe that the home of Francis and Barbara in Wisconsin is still owned by family members though now used primarily as a summer residence.

I have worked on my connection to this FERGUSON family over time and may have information some of you don't and vice versa. I have visited the home of our Robert FERGUSON in Dunlop (aka Auchentiber), Ayrshire, Scotland and have photos of it as it stood in 2005. I descend from Robert & Agnes (Logan) FERGUSON's daughter Margaret (Ferguson) GRAHAM my 2nd great grandmother. Of the 11 births to them, the three of the five sons went to Canada. The 5th son Thomas (last child) died shortly after his birth in 1928 & daughter Helen b 1824 d 1837.

Irene, I know when you look at the photo again and knowing that the name of the house was OLD HALL/OLDHALL no doubt you will see it clearly;-)) It will certainly be curious to discover who the family is in 1897 as, WAIT!, could the woman be Janet (Laught) FERGUSON, w/o Alexander FERGUSON as she didn't die until 1902. She had married sometime after Alexander's death to a Peter McLEISH D.D. Minister, per her death registration.

Hello, Shan :)

Re children of John Ferguson and Mary Munro:

I do not have much information on Francis Percy Ferguson. My main information is on Munro Ferguson (1860-1928). He married Elizabeth Merryfield and settled/farmed in the Matsqui area of British Columbia. He and Elizabeth had 10 children. Many of the descendants of Munro still live in British Columbia.

OOPS, it has been noted that I typed "1928" for the birth of Thomas FERGUSON - it should have read 1828.

SOURCE: "Alastair G. Beattie & Margaret H. Beattie, Kilmarnock & Loudon District Monumental Inscriptions pre 1855, (Scottish Genealogy Society), Page 5 #46. DUNLOP CHURCHYARD"
(exactly as typed capitals and all)

"by Robert Ferguson, Oldhall, & w Agnes Logan, chn Thomas F d inf 22.3.1828, Helen F d 5.1.1837 a in 13y" - The 'a' after 1837 refers to "aged"

My apologies for any confusion this has caused anyone.
