Hello,
I'm researching the Cumberland line of my ancestry and have hit a wall at my 4th great grandfather, John Cumberland. I have no birth, marriage or death records, only family tree info leading to him and his wife Miriam. son Aaron Linton Cumberland Birth 17 Oct 1813 in New Brunswick, Canada
Death 22 Dec 1874 in Gleason Road, St. James Parish, Charlotte Co., NB

They did live in Scotch Ridge and Pomeroy Ridge in St Stephen.

I am guessing his birth date to be around 1780. Birth could be in Canada or it could be in England.

any information pertaining to them or family or areas that I may search for them, would be greatly appreciated. Very common names so it is tough to narrow down.
thank you!
Eleanor

I have not found him in Loyalists data nor did he have any Land deeded to him so I don't think he was a loyalist, but rather a newcomer or established in the area prior.

Thank you very much! This information has added a lot of information for Miriam's branch. I haven't had a chance to research all in depth yet, but plan to do so in the upcoming weeks. lets stay in touch. Eleanor
