Unfortunately I don't have much more. According to what I have collected via the internet, PANB and from my sister Cathy's recollection and records, Alexander MACKAY was born 1801 in Glasgow, Scotland and married Mary MATHESON. They had five children that we know of and Cathy says they may also have had two more in Scotland who died young. The children I have listed are Thomas Alexander (April 6, 1843-Dec 20, 1920), Isabella (1829-?), Henrietta (1834-), Georgiana (1836-?), and Eric Hugh (1839-).
Thomas definitely did marry Priscillia Williamson, and I am one of their great great grandchildren.
Hugh McKay lived in Bonny River, Charlotte County, New Brunswick and was not related directly that we know of to my MacKay family (Alexander & Mary MACKAY), however he was apparently a very close family friend. Close enough that he left his friend and his friends children substantially amounts of land in his will. He appears to have been a mentor of some sort to Alexander Mackay and his family, perhaps even instrumental in encouraging them to come to Canada, and Hugh Mackay's nephew Hugh Matheson happens to have the same surname as Alexanders wife Mary (Matheson or Mathieson).
There are several land grants listed at PANB for Alexander MacKay, the first being dated 1825. These land grants are also mentioned in the will of Hugh McKay and it appears that Alexander may have sold or mortgaged his land recieved in these grants to Hugh McKay, and that Hugh then in his will gave them back to Alexander, and or cleared Alexander of any debts owing to Hugh for the same?
This family is listed in the 1851 census St George Parish, Charlotte County, and as you have noted Thomas & Priscilla are buried in the Second Falls Cemetery. There are pictures of several monuments in this cemetery at Charlotte County Genweb.
