Hi Claris,
My mother has told the story about Alexander and Mary's arrival and first years in New Brunswick. As I recall; she claims that; they arrived in Saint John (as is written in the family bible) and went to Ross Hall (could this be Rose Hall?) at Saint Anns Point (now Fredericton). This was a temporary arrangement while they were awaiting the granting of their lands at Second Falls. It was there that they lost Mary Ann and that she was buried there.
Some of this story she seemed to be very sure of and other parts appeared to be not quite as sure of. But it may hold a clue?
The bible record I have is a poor photocopy of the original. As well, the original bible was salvaged from the ashes of Thomas Mckay's farmhouse by Helen McKay.
The spelling for Eric is quite possible "Euric" as this area appears to be ink blotted.
Not sure if this info. is of any use, but thought I'd send it along anyway!
