Carroll, thank you for checking that information for me. In my files I have a Susan Thornton who would have been Daniel's aunt, and my records show a Susannah Thornton marrying Richard Stairs (their marriage record used the spelling Susan v. Susannah and Steers v. Stairs). Perhaps it was his aunt who married Mr Creckmore.

Of course this all assumes that Daniel is, in fact, descended from Israel Thornton!? My search continues it seems. I looked to see if a copy of Mr Hayward's book might be available, but none are online for sale and the nearest library that has it is nearly 300 miles from here, so I do thank you heartily for checking for my information.
